Hello everyone, I am Hoang Nhat Le - a K61 student majoring in Anthropology. Although Anthropology was not the major I loved and chose from the beginning, after 4 years of studying and researching, I have truly loved and respected Anthropology - a basic science, highly interdisciplinary and has a very important position in the economic and social life of humans. Anthropology has brought me many wonderful things, of which the most memorable and emotional memory is probably the opportunity to study abroad through the Faculty's scholarship. I was lucky to learn about and successfully apply for a scholarship exchange program between the Faculty and Gottingen University (Germany) scheduled to take place in the summer of 2021.

I learned about this exchange program through regularly visiting the Faculty's website to find out the news. Although there were only two weeks until the deadline to submit valid documents, I had prepared in advance to always be ready for the program's requirements, especially regarding English proficiency. One of the minimum requirements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as the German partner in considering exchange scholarships is an international language certificate. I think every student should always remind themselves to prepare a foreign language certificate in advance to meet the needs of future study exchange. Besides the English certificate, when applying for an exchange scholarship with the University of Gottingen, I invested the most time in writing a Motivation Letter. I drafted four versions with four different contents and edited them dozens of times to be able to complete the letter that I felt satisfied with. I also had to ask my friends to take the time to read the article to help me complete the writing. In addition to the Motivation Letter, I must say that I was very lucky to study Religious Anthropology with Mr. Dinh Hong Hai that semester. Not only was he very enthusiastic in helping me write a recommendation letter, but when I studied Religious Anthropology that semester, there was a lecturer from Gottingen University who came to give a guest lecture; I got to experience the lessons with foreign lecturers in advance. It was like a test and a motivation for me to prepare well for the upcoming learning journey.
I can say that the Anthropology major is full of opportunities for students who love to experience studying abroad, want to learn and research deeply about the economic - cultural - social life of countries around the world. If you are determined and make an effort, everything can be done! On this occasion, I would like to sincerely thank the Faculty of Anthropology as well as the head of the faculty, Mr. Nguyen Van Suu, for creating opportunities for me and other Anthropology students to reach out to the world through scholarships to study abroad thanks to the close and open cooperation relationship between the faculty, the teachers and foreign universities.
