University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On the occasion of the Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community - promulgated by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 930/QD-TTg dated August 3, 2022 - the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) carried out a meaningful cultural diplomacy activity.

“Some Memories of Professor Giàu” is a collection of recollections by Professor Trần Quốc Vượng (in Trần Quốc Vượng, 2001, History Department and Me, National University of Hanoi Publishing House) about Professor Trần Văn Giàu – one of the founders of modern Vietnamese historiography. Through stories and memories told in a familiar and emotional style, the article portrays the image of a dedicated, strict teacher who had a profound influence on many generations of students.

Professor Dao Duy Anh (1904–1988) was one of the leading scholars of modern Vietnamese historiography and culture. With his outstanding contributions to the study of history, culture, language, and geography, he is known as one of the intellectuals who had a profound influence on Vietnamese academic life in the 20th century.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Faculty's tradition, let's listen to Professor Tran Quoc Vuong's sharing about Professor Tran Duc Thao - a great philosopher and one of the teachers who has been associated with the Faculty since its founding. Through the stories recounted, a part of the memory of the Faculty and of the teachers, friends, and colleagues of a bygone era has been preserved and passed down through generations.

This is one of the contents of the memorandum of cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board, signed on August 15, 2026.

On the morning of July 15, 2026, a working session on "Consulting on the Planning for the Preservation, Restoration, and Rehabilitation of Historical and Archaeological Sites" was held at the Da Nang City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This is part of the My Son Temple Complex Planning Project until 2035, with a vision to 2050. Professor, Doctor Lam Thi My Dung has dedicated most of her life to searching for artifacts buried deep underground, traces that seemed to have been forgotten by time.

On June 11, 2026, at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel World Heritage Site, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center organized a scientific seminar entitled "Identifying the Outstanding Values ​​of the Co Loa Relic Site". This is an important professional activity aimed at finalizing the summary report to be submitted to UNESCO for consideration in including the Co Loa Relic Site on the tentative list of World Heritage Sites.

This morning, May 19, 2026, within the framework of the Social Sciences and Humanities Week – SSH Week 2026, the Faculty of History and Culture, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, hosted the scientific conference “Heritage Economy: From Theory to Policy and Sustainable Development Practice”.
