Among the 12 Ho Chi Minh Awards and 20 State Awards for Science and Technology this time, the Faculty of History has two awards: one Ho Chi Minh Award for the cluster of works on Vietnamese culture by the late Professor, Meritorious Artist Tran Quoc Vuong, one State Award for the work “Thang Long - Hanoi in the 17th - 18th - 19th centuries” by Associate Professor, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thua Hy. This is the 5th Ho Chi Minh Award and the 4th State Award that the staff of the Faculty of History has been honored to receive from the State.

On February 18, 2012, the Ho Chi Minh Prize and State Prize 2010 Award Ceremony will take place. On November 30, 2011, at the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association Hall, the Standing Committee of the City Writers Association, the Culture and Arts Publishing House, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Ca Le family held an intimate meeting to introduce the Diary of Le Anh Xuan. Fall 1956,Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University of Science - a basic science department of a new University under the Democratic Republic of Vietnam regime was born.

On September 27, 2011, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), the Ceremony to Announce the Decision to Establish the Faculty of Political Science will take place. I still remember nearly fifty years ago, when I was in third grade in Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province, I once heard my eldest brother - a young teacher who left the plains to come here to teach literature at secondary school, peeling off a block calendar (the only type of calendar popular at that time, printed on thin and ugly paper) to roll cigarettes, and humming a poem, which included the following lines:

Thus, a heart that had spent its whole life carrying enthusiasm for science, spent its whole life training, and passed on the fire to its students had stopped beating. The person who carried that heart - Professor Nguyen Tai Can - had left this world for heaven, leaving behind a void in the academic world; and in our hearts, alongside the sadness and regret of students for their Teacher, there was the feeling of standing before a thousand miles of separation.
