From a journalism student who loved filmmaking, Ha Thai (real name Bui Thi Ha, former student of K53, Faculty of Journalism and Communication – University of Social Sciences and Humanities) has now won two awards at the Golden Lotus Film Festival 2011 and the Silver Kite Award in the short film category 2012.

The news of Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hai Ke's passing after more than 10 days in the hospital has shocked and saddened numerous faculty members, colleagues, friends, and students of all generations from the History Department. For nearly two weeks, friends, colleagues, and students took turns staying at the hospital, hoping to offer encouragement and support to Professor Ke and his family. However, the situation worsened too quickly. The overwhelming love and care of everyone, the dedication of the doctors and nurses, and the best medical advancements could not bring Professor Ke back to his family, friends, and colleagues.

In 1981, for various reasons, the students of our 26th cohort in the History Department enrolled late. Fortunately, on our very first day as students, we had the opportunity to hear Professor Tran Quoc Vuong teach Archaeology using an interdisciplinary approach. It can be said that the extraordinary appeal of those first lectures by the dedicated and talented professors and scientists of the History Department kept many of us in the department and inspired us to follow in their footsteps in history, teaching history, and so on.

1. In 1974, after graduating from the prestigious Ngo Quyen High School in Hai Phong city, young Nguyen Hai Ke became a student in the 15th cohort of the History Department at Hanoi University (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi). Unlike many who were "forced" into the History Department (though they later became passionate about history and went on to become renowned historians), Nguyen Hai Ke came to history voluntarily. Studying the Ancient and Medieval History of Vietnam, he was taught, mentored, and mentored by famous professors in the Department, who imparted not only knowledge but also a burning passion. Graduating with honors, he became a lecturer in the Department and has been dedicated to the History Department and the profession of history teaching ever since. After devoting his youth to the Youth Union movement, in 1987 he went to the Soviet Union to study, completing his doctoral and postdoctoral dissertations.
