The Sumitomo Foundation is a non-profit support organization established on September 25, 1991 by 20 companies of the Sumitomo Group to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Besshi Copper Mine in Shikoku, Japan. The Foundation's goal is to contribute to the improvement of human society by mobilizing public support. Currently, the Foundation's grants are awarded to projects that address or solve problems facing humanity such as culture and the environment, and to support basic scientific research and international exchanges.
Over the years, the Fund has supported the University's scientists through the Japan-related Research Project program (each year, 1-2 research projects are funded). In order to continue to have more funding opportunities for the University's scientists, during the working trip of the Fund's representative in Vietnam, the University invited Mr. Koichi Ishizuka - executive officer of the Fund to introduce the Fund and research funding opportunities in 2016, as follows:
- Time: 13:30 June 13, 2016 (Monday)
- Location:Meeting room 506 building E
