International Scholars Exchange Program 2013-2014

Sponsored by the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS), the Asia Research Center (ARC) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is pleased to announce the International Scholar Exchange Fellowship Program (ISEF) for the years 2013-2014.

Object

Faculty currently working at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (Those who have previously conducted research in Korea, those who have previously received ISEF scholarships, and those whose primary purpose is to teach in Korea are not eligible for this scholarship).

Selection criteria

• Under 50 years old.
• Must hold a PhD or higher degree (as of the time of application).
• Possess sufficient research skills in English (international certifications are preferred).

Research field

• Social Sciences and Humanities (Majors: Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Sociology, Education, Psychology, Anthropology, Journalism, Geography, Philosophy, History, Literature).
• Energy-related fields: Petrochemical technology and related areas.
• Information Science and Technology: Electrical Engineering (Electronics), Telecommunications, Computer Science, and related fields.
• Life sciences.

(Individuals in fields of study not listed above are not eligible for this scholarship.)

Research time

• One year - From September 1, 2013 to August 31, 2014
• 6 months - From September 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014; or - From March 1, 2014 to August 31, 2014

Scholarship details

* Research support: 2,500,000 won/month (approximately 2,300 USD) (Equivalent to 30,000,000 won/year for a one-year study or 15,000,000 won/year for a six-month study) (Research support amounts may vary based on expertise and experience, potentially reaching 3,500,000 won/month) * Thesis support: 1,000,000 won upon submission of the research report at the end of the term (August 2014 for a one-year study; February 2014 or August 2014 for a six-month study) (Scholarship is only valid for scholars present in Korea within one month of receiving notification from KFAS) * Initial settling-in support: 1,000,000 won won.
