On the morning of August 7, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a seminar on international 2+2 joint training programs with Guangxi University, Shanghai University (China) and Chungwon University (Korea). This year, the international joint training program is recruiting students for six majors: public administration, tourism management, Chinese language, journalism, broadcasting and television, and advertising. Eligible participants are candidates who took the 2009 and 2010 university entrance exams in blocks A, B, C, and D, achieving scores at or above the minimum threshold set by the Ministry of Education and Training. The focus of the workshop was on discussions between candidates, parents, and the organizing committee regarding application documents, training programs, and especially the issue of Chinese language proficiency. Dr. Tran Thuy Anh – Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation – stated: The university will provide maximum support for students to study and improve their Chinese language skills. In particular, students will have a summer semester to study Chinese at Guangxi University to enhance their language abilities and improve their adaptability to their final two years of study in China. Students who do not meet the HSK Level 4 Chinese proficiency requirement will be offered additional Chinese language courses by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities or can self-study to achieve the required standard. At the seminar, Dong A Bank, in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, introduced a student loan program specifically for students in the joint training program. Representatives from Dong A Bank directly answered many questions from parents regarding interest rates and loan conditions. It is known that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a 2+2 international training cooperation agreement in 2007.
