On the morning of August 30th, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the opening ceremony for the first cohort of the Master's program in Science and Technology Management. This is a joint training program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Lund University (Sweden) – within the framework of Project 165 of the Central Organizing Committee.To implement the training program, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized review sessions and entrance exams for prospective students. After a rigorous selection process, the University and the Office of Project 165 selected 38 students to participate in the first cohort of the Master's Program in Science and Technology Management. The successful candidates come from various provinces and cities across Vietnam, belong to diverse ethnic groups, and are all included in the leadership and management personnel planning at their respective ministries, departments, and localities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Vu Minh Giang emphasized that Project 165 is a strategic project aimed at training cadres to manage the country. Therefore, in addition to acquiring advanced scientific knowledge and leadership and management skills, proficiency in foreign languages is a particularly important requirement for learners. Professor Vu Minh Giang also expressed his confidence and hope that the cooperative link between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Lund University will continue to expand and improve in quality. Associate Professor Nguyen Xuan Son highly appreciated the prestige and quality of training of both the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Lund University. He affirmed that the 38 trainees participating in the program are all young cadres from ministries, sectors, and localities with excellent prior academic achievements and are included in the planning for future leadership positions. On behalf of the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh officially declared the opening of the first cohort of the 2010 Master's Program in Science and Technology Management at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities within the framework of Project 165. The Rector particularly emphasized: Besides training high-quality human resources, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is also a center that has contributed to training many outstanding managers and leaders for various sectors, localities, and the country. With over 15 years of experience in research and training high-quality scientific personnel at the Master's level in the field of Science and Technology Management, cooperation with Lund University will provide the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with many opportunities to learn from a truly world-class partner, thereby rapidly enhancing its research and training capacity, especially in the field of science and technology management.
