In order to improve the quality of the school's activities and implement the quality accreditation plan registered with Hanoi National University…

Self-assessment based on the 10 accreditation standards of Hanoi National University is an opportunity for the university to reflect on the reality of its operations, thereby continuing to determine directions and adjust short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals and plans accordingly, as well as to leverage the university's strengths and unique resources, and to implement specific measures to minimize and overcome existing weaknesses.

2. Scope of self-assessment

The overall assessment of the school's activities is based on the Accreditation Standards of Hanoi National University, issued on December 13, 2005.

3. Local-level quality assurance council

3.1. Composition of the School-level Quality Assurance Council:

The school-level quality assurance council was established by Decision No. 452/QD-XHNV, dated March 20, 2009, of the Principal. The council consists of 31 members.

3.2. The Secretariat and its specialized working groups conduct self-assessments:

5.3 Determining the timeframe for data collection and survey implementation

6. Plan to hire external experts

7. Timetable

The self-assessment process will take approximately 6 months, following this schedule:

Weeks 1-2 (30/3-3/4)
  • Unit leaders will hold a meeting to discuss the purpose, scope, timeline, and determine the members of the unit's Quality Assurance Council.
  • The head of the unit issues a decision to establish the unit's Quality Assurance Council and sends a document to Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
  • The school's Quality Assurance Council meeting was held to:
    • Announcement of the decision to establish the Quality Assurance Council at the grassroots level.
    • Discuss and assign specific tasks to each member of the Council.
    • Draft self-assessment plan.
    • Establish a secretariat and specialized working groups to assist Council members in fulfilling their self-assessment responsibilities according to the Accreditation Standards.
Weeks 3-4 (6/4-17/4)
  • Disseminate the policy on implementing self-assessment to all faculty, staff, and students of the unit (through departments, offices, etc.).
  • Organize training sessions on professional skills and procedures for implementing self-assessment for key personnel of units, departments, divisions, etc.
  • The School's Quality Assurance Council meeting approved:
    • Unit's self-assessment plan
    • Draft outline of the self-assessment report (based on training materials and the specific conditions of the unit)
    • Submit the self-assessment plan to the unit head for approval.
  • Units submitting self-assessment plans to VNU Hanoi
Weeks 5-10 (20/4-29/5)
  • The task forces meet and assign specific tasks to each member (based on the Accreditation Standards and the documentation guiding the search for evidence).
  • Gather information and evidence.
  • Encrypt the information and evidence obtained.
  • Describe the information and evidence obtained.
  • Analyze and explain the content of the evidence to demonstrate that the unit meets the requirements in the Electrical Accreditation Standards.
Weeks 11-12 (1/6-12/6)
  • The working groups are responsible for writing reports on each criterion.
  • Gather additional information (if necessary).
Weeks 13-14 (15/6-26/6)
  • The heads of the specialized teams compile the criteria reports into standard reports.
  • Gather additional information (if necessary).
Weeks 15-16 (29/6-10/7) School Quality Assurance Council:
  • Review the reports for each standard drafted by the task forces.
  • Review the information and evidence used in the self-assessment report.
  • Identify the issues arising from the information and evidence obtained.
  • Identify additional information that needs to be collected.
  • The secretary of the school's Quality Assurance Council compiles the standard reports into a draft self-assessment report for the unit.
Weeks 17-18 (13/7 -24/7)
  • The school's Quality Assurance Council reviews the draft self-assessment report and proposes revisions (if necessary).
  • The council approved the self-assessment report and submitted it to the head of the unit.
Week 19 - 20 (27/7-7/8)
  • The head of the unit has the self-assessment report released internally within the unit.
  • Departments, divisions, offices, faculty members, and staff are encouraged to provide feedback and critical comments on the self-assessment report.
Weeks 21-22 (10/8-21/8)
  • The school's Quality Assurance Council continues to supplement and refine the self-assessment report based on the feedback received.
  • The school's Quality Assurance Council approves the final self-assessment report and submits it to the Head of the unit for approval.
Week 23 (24/8-28/8)
  • The head of the unit approves the self-assessment report.
Week 24 (31/8-4/9)
  • The school submitted its self-assessment report to the VNU Quality Assurance Council.
  • The school's Quality Assurance Council retains the supporting information in the order of the evidence codes recorded in the self-assessment report, ready for the external evaluation team to review.
