Film and Television Scriptwriting Skills Class

The Department of Art Studies (Faculty of Literature – University of Social Sciences and Humanities) is recruiting students for a short-term training course in film and television scriptwriting skills, commencing in October 2018.

This course aims to train students in fundamental and practical skills to enter the field of film and television screenwriting, meeting the increasingly high and expanding broadcasting demands of television channels today. After 10 courses, many outstanding students have found their calling in screenwriting and have produced works accepted by many reputable film studios and companies, such as Vietnam Television and Vietnam Animation Film Studio. By attending the short-term Film and Television Screenwriting Skills course, you will expand your network and, more importantly, gain more direction and career options in the current context.

1. Target audience:Sinh viên/Học sinh đã tốt nghiệp hoặc đang học tại các trường đại học/ cao đẳng/ trung học chuyên nghiệp/ trung học phổ thông/trung học cơ sở.

• Các đạo diễn, nhà biên kịch có uy tín trong và ngoài nước: đạo diễn Đặng Nhật Minh, nhà biên kịch Trịnh Thanh Nhã, nhà biên kịch Trịnh Đan Phượng, nhà biên kịch Phạm Thanh Hà, nhà biên kịch Hà Thu Hà…

3. Mục tiêu: Kết thúc khoá học, học viên nắm được những kiến thức lí thuyết cơ bản và những kĩ năng thực hành sau:

• Lí thuyết nhập môn điện ảnh học, các đặc trưng cơ bản của loại hình điện ảnh – truyền hình
• Kĩ năng viết kịch bản điện ảnh – kịch bản phim truyền hình dài tập
• Kĩ năng viết kịch bản sitcom, phim tài liệu và phim hoạt hình
• Trang bị các kiến thức thực tế về quy trình và hệ thống sản xuất phim (có hoạt động tham quan và đi thực tế tại xưởng làm phim); kĩ năng làm quen và sử dụng máy quay phim, dựng trường quay qua thực hành làm những phim ngắn theo nhóm.

The instructors will contact and introduce good, highly-rated scripts to film producers for adaptation into television.

4. Study time:6 PM - 8:30 PM: 3 sessions/week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

5. Learning conditions:Benefiting from modern facilities and equipment from the Ford Foundation-funded film training project, students will study in standard classrooms with 30-40 students per class, watch films, and use learning materials in the film project's library and screening room with standard sound, screen, and lighting systems.

6. Registration for courses:Applications will be accepted from August 26, 2018 to September 30, 2018 at the Film Club office – 4th floor, Building I, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

7. The registration documents include:

• Registration form (obtain and fill out the form at the registration location).
• A copy of your identity card or a copy of your student ID/university diploma (or college, vocational school/high school/junior high school diploma)
• Two 3 x 4 cm photos (taken within the last 3 months)

Tuition: 3,200,000 VND (including internship and materials costs); 10% tuition fee reduction for students at the university.

Duration: 20 sessions
