Competition to propose communication initiatives to prevent forms of sexual violence against women and girls

The Center for Research and Applied Sciences on Gender - Family - Women and Adolescents (CSAGA), sponsored by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Vietnam, respectfully sends to individuals/groups/organizations information about the competition to find ideas and implement communication initiatives with the following contents:

1.Purpose

- Call for the development of humane, creative and effective communication initiatives in conveying positive messages to ensure sexual rights for women and girls.

2.Participants

- Be a Vietnamese citizen, aged 15-55, studying, working and living in Vietnam (Employees of the contest organizers, members of the Organizing Committee and the Jury are not allowed to participate in the contest).

- Participants: Individuals, groups, organizations.

3.Content, requirements and application documents

3.1.Application form

- The application form is presented in the form of a soft copy document (*.doc); and printed on A4 paper, Times New Roman font, 14pt size.

3.2.Content of communication initiative

- Initiatives that contribute to solving the problem: Ensuring sexual rights for women and girls. Aspects that can be mentioned:Identify behaviors, call on the community to join hands, call for involvement, and strict handling of relevant parties,...

- Proposed initiatives must have creative ideas, be culturally acceptable and be feasible in practice.

3.3.Request

- Proposed initiatives do not violate legal regulations, are not contrary to Vietnamese customs and traditions, and are not related to political or religious issues.

- Proposed initiatives and products are products that have not participated in any contests and have not been published in any mass media before.

- No limit on number of proposals.

- It is recommended not to use brand images, as well as commercial advertising content and images.

- Contestants submitting proposals are responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of the copyright of the work as well as the registration information to the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for handling disputes regarding copyright or related rights or arising from the submitted products.

- For participating groups/organizations, the name of the group/organization leader must be included and the group/organization must be responsible. The contest organizers are not responsible for any issues arising from the entries, including copyright issues within the group. If there is a dispute within the group regarding the group's work, the organizers will remove the entry without notifying the members or participating groups.

- The Organizing Committee will not resolve complaints about the results and prizes after the announcement of the prize. Within 10 days from the announcement of the prize, if the winner/group cannot be contacted, the Organizing Committee will cancel the prize and award it to the next work (the successor of the cancelled prize).

4.Jury

- The jury includes members who are gender experts and artists.

5. TEvaluation criteria

- The jury will review all entries and select creative and feasible ideas to support the realization of communication ideas.

+Mobilizing youth participation

6.Time

- Launch the contest and receive entries from:11.9.2017 – 23:00 15.11.2017

- Organize presentation of ideas/proposals that make it to round 2:22.11.2017

- Award for initiatives and technical support to improve, initiatives:23.11.2017-10.12.2017

- Implement initiatives: 11.12.2017 – 31.12.2017

7.Prize

7.1.Prize

- After the media idea proposals are selected, the jury will support a budget from10,000,000 VND to 30,000,000 VNDfor individuals/groups/organizations to complete and implement ideas.

8.About product usage

- The author agrees to give the contest organizers the copyright of the winning product (including ideas and finished products) to serve communication activities for the benefit of the community.

10.Process for evaluating proposals and supporting the implementation of communication ideas

- Phase 1: Receive and review valid ideas.

- Phase 2: Jury scoring.

- Phase 3: Organize presentation of ideas/proposals that make it to round 2.

- Phase 4: Awarding of initiatives and technical support to complete the initiatives.

- Phase 5: Implement the initiative.

* In a similar competition held last year, a group of students majoring in Journalism and PR from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication won the competition and received a sponsorship of 15 million VND to implement the communication idea "Braided Hair Challenge" to express men's respect for women. This idea was highly appreciated by the Jury and received support from the community.
