At the 2022 National Press Conference, held from April 13-15, 2022, the booth of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training stood out with hundreds of students gathering to take photos, work, and sing youth songs.

On the morning of April 13th, at the Hanoi Museum, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Hanoi People's Committee, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized the opening ceremony of the 2022 National Press Conference with the theme "Vietnamese Journalism: United, Professional, Modern and Humane".

Faculty and students of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, also enthusiastically participated in the Press Festival with a modern, youthful, and eye-catching exhibition area.

Early in the morning, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University, and Associate Professor Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector, were present to attend the opening ceremony of the Press Festival and to encourage the faculty and students of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University, said: “The National Press Conference is not only a celebration for journalists nationwide but also a great opportunity for journalism and communication students to meet, interact, and network with senior journalists to hone their skills. Many students have also found agencies to collaborate with after attending the annual press conference.”

At the Institute's exhibition booth, in addition to showcasing training programs, a "book tree" is also displayed, representing the tradition of "General Journalism, Humanistic Communication," built upon classic works by leading professors in the country's social sciences and humanities such as Tran Van Giau, Dao Duy Anh, Ha Minh Duc, Tran Quoc Vuong, Phan Huy Le, Dinh Xuan Lam, Ha Van Tan, etc. In modern times, the "branches and leaves" of the book tree are research works and publications by current faculty members of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training.

During the days of the Press Festival, students from the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training brought a cheerful and youthful atmosphere to the exhibition booths with their popular songs. Many other units also participated with musical performances at the "stage" of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training's exhibition booth.

Organized to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and looking forward to the 97th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day and other major national and Hanoi historical and political events in 2022, this year's Press Festival has chosen the theme "Vietnamese Journalism: United, Professional, Modern, and Humane". The festival features four exhibition areas showcasing New Year's publications and other representative press publications from the beginning of 2022, including New Year's Day newspapers, the Year of the Tiger 2022 Spring issue, and year-end/New Year issues...

Additionally, the area in front of the Hanoi Museum also features an exhibition commemorating 100 years of the newspaper Le Paria (The Pariah), organized by the Vietnam Press Museum. Within the framework of the press festival, on the morning of April 14th, the Vietnam Journalists Association, in collaboration with Tuoi Tre newspaper, organized a forum on Digital Transformation to better serve readers. The forum brought together many contributions from reputable journalists and experts in media and digital transformation.

According to representatives of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the press festival is an opportunity to honor the strong development and great achievements of Vietnamese journalism, to promote journalistic products associated with the labor and creativity of journalists nationwide; at the same time, to strengthen interaction and meetings between journalists and the public, thereby encouraging the press to best perform its functions and tasks, meeting the ever-increasing information needs of the people; and to enhance the role and prestige of the Vietnam Journalists Association in journalistic life in particular and social life in general.
