The University of Social Sciences and Humanities welcomed and held a working meeting with the Catholic University of Eszterházy Károly (Hungary).

On April 21, 2026, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, hosted a reception and working session with a delegation from the Catholic University of Eszterházy Károly (Hungary).
Attending the working session, on behalf of Eszterházy Károly Catholic University were Dr. Ilona Pajtók–Tari – Rector of the university, along with other staff members. On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong – Vice Rector of the university, along with leaders of several faculties and functional units.
At the beginning of the meeting, the EKCU representative introduced the university's rich history. Founded in 1774 in Hungary, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University is one of the oldest and most established educational institutions. With approximately 10,000 students across 6 faculties, the university excels in teacher training and scientific research, and has made its mark through numerous achievements in the fields of culture and arts. Furthermore, the university focuses on promoting international cooperation and expanding its network of partners to enhance academic exchange and cultural interaction.
Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong provided an overview of the university's formation, development, strengths, and achievements in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities. In an open spirit, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always values ​​establishing relationships with universities with long-standing traditions in Europe, such as EKCU, to jointly develop high-quality research programs and student exchange opportunities.
Representing the Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Pham Hoang Giang introduced the Faculty – one of the university's key training units – formed by the merger of the Management Science and Philosophy departments. With a diverse training program, the unit has established a network of cooperation with many international partners, especially educational institutions in China. One of its prominent and regularly maintained activities is the joint organization of scientific conferences. Simultaneously, the Faculty is also focusing on developing short-term courses on the essence of Eastern and Western philosophy, contributing to expanding access to knowledge for learners.
Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Thi Linh - Head of the Psychology Department - shared insights into the unit's position within the psychology training system in Vietnam. Currently, in addition to focusing on research, the unit is also actively expanding its activities in applied psychology and counseling. Through this meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Thi Linh hopes that both sides will explore similarities in their training programs to promote expert exchanges and professional research collaborations in the future.
Both schools expressed their appreciation for each other's insights and hoped that this meeting would be the beginning of deeper exchanges on areas of mutual interest in the future.
