The School of Social Sciences and Humanities won big in its first national competition for excellent students.

In the 2021-2022 school year, the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities had 6 students participating in the national excellent student competition. As a result, the school's students won 3 second prizes and 1 third prize in Literature and History.

This is the first year that the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities has participated in this exam and has achieved remarkable results.

Nguyen Ngoc Linh - Second prize winner in Literature - confided that when she heard that she was chosen as one of the two members representing the school to participate in the national excellent student team, she was very happy and surprised. However, she also felt pressured and worried because this was the first year the school participated in this competition. She also understood how responsible she needed to be in the school's first participation.

As an outstanding student of the History Specialized Class K1, Le Hoai Nam has proven his talent by winning second prize in the recent national history competition. Recalling the days of exam preparation, Hoai Nam expressed his gratitude to the teachers who have always cared for and stood side by side with the team.

“Although there are disadvantages due to the short review time, and this year I am in grade 11 and have to compete with my seniors in grade 12, there are more or less difficulties and pressures. However, I always tell myself that I need to overcome myself to complete the set goals. And teachers have given us the motivation to achieve the results we have today” – Hoa Nam confided.

Teacher Pham Hai Linh - Literature Group, High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities - shared: The school is very happy and proud of the results of the first campaign. She hopes that students will together light up the flame of passion and promote the tradition of Literature - General - Humanities.

Expressing pride in the two classes of students studying at the school, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Principal of the school – shared joy with the students in the team of excellent students in Literature, History and Geography.

The 2021-2022 school year takes place in a special context due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic; however, the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities has gradually affirmed its position as the only specialized school in social sciences and humanities in the country.

The school has selected the most outstanding students to participate in the national excellent student competition. They have surpassed themselves to assert themselves and continue to write golden pages of history for the school.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu informed: Currently, the school's Literature major has 103 students (both grades 10 and 11). With the excellent achievements of the Literature major, this year the quota for the Literature major is 75, an increase of 15 quotas compared to the previous school year.

Emphasizing, the most important point for the school's students is: Training; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - said: Not only are teachers training in class, students can participate in many clubs such as: Media Club - HSSH Media Club, HLA Art Club - HSSH Land of Art; La'Cinéma Film Club... to further practice writing skills and foreign language skills. In many club activities, students present and exchange entirely in English. In addition, the school regularly publishes the internal magazine "Nhan Van Viet" for students to practice writing skills and publish their articles.

Students in the school confidently participate in many international essay competitions and many students have won high prizes such as Tran Phuong Linh (Literature major), who received a scholarship to attend a summer camp in the Immerse Education Competition organized by Cambridge University (UK).

The GOSPEND group, consisting of three students Tran Tram Anh, Le Hoai Nam and Tran Hai Nam, participated in and won first prize in the contest 'Youth Initiatives for Sustainable Consumption' organized by the Faculty of International Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities).
