[Thanhnien] From 5 a.m. on July 26, people lined up at the National Funeral House, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, to see off General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Many young people were also present to see off the General Secretary and support people coming to pay their respects.

Being able to participate in supporting the people during the State Funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a source of pride for many young people. As soon as she received the notice of recruiting volunteers to serve the State Funeral, Dang Thuy Hang, a student at the Vietnam Youth Academy, quickly registered and took a bus from Nam Dinh to Hanoi overnight to be in time for work on July 25.

“When I heard the news of the General Secretary’s death, I was very moved and hoped to be able to contribute a small part to his funeral. The weather in Hanoi is quite harsh at this time, but I do not feel tired. My heart and that of thousands of young people here always goes out to him.”

Nguyen Chi Phuong, a student at Hanoi Law University, is also proud to be one of the lucky volunteers to serve at the General Secretary's funeral: "I am always proud to be a young generation of Vietnam. Wearing the green shirt of the Youth Union, I hope to contribute to supporting people from all over the country to visit Uncle Ho. Seeing the delegations from far away coming here, I want to try my best to help people such as encouraging, fanning, and giving water to people in the hot summer sun so that everyone can take care of their health and pay their last respects to Uncle Ho."

“Among many leaders, I am always impressed with the General Secretary because of his silver hair, white glasses, always holding a pen and the two words 'people' he always mentions. At an age when he should be resting after a life of hard work, the General Secretary still works day and night until the last minute on his sickbed," Pham Gia Han, a student at Newton Secondary and High School, shared.

Although still young, Gia Han promises to always try to study and contribute more to her family and country as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's sincere message to the young generation of Vietnam.

They are a new generation, the future owners of the country, with a spirit of integration and development, but do not forget to turn to the Fatherland and ancestors, maintaining and promoting the tradition of "remembering the source of the water we drink".
