2024 Volunteer Tourism Campaign “Bright Sunshine in the Snow-Covered Shan Region”: Creating “Seeds” of Love

March, the month of unspoken love! And we want those feelings to become practical, decisive actions, and above all, to reflect the spirit of youth, of the young people, of the students of the Faculty of Tourism Studies. That is why the 2024 Volunteer Tourism Program is starting to "move on".
The 2023 "Blooming Flowers on the Border" program led the Tourism and Studies Volunteer Team to Binh Lieu, a land known as the "dinosaur's spine" due to its landmarks marking national sovereignty. Where will the 2024 "Bright Sunshine of the Shan Tuyet Region" program lead the Tourism and Studies Volunteer Team? Let's find out!
The 2024 Volunteer Tourism Campaign aims to uphold the traditional values ​​of mutual support and solidarity inherent in students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in general and students of the Faculty of Tourism Studies in particular. Furthermore, it contributes to improving the effectiveness of the Youth Union and Student Association; and facilitates the exchange of experiences in Youth Union work and student movements with local youth.
Besides organizing traditional volunteer activities to ensure social welfare and contribute to improving the material and cultural lives of ethnic minorities and children in the locality, the Youth Union and Student Association of the Faculty of Tourism also organize volunteer activities related to tourism expertise, contributing to a meaningful program with humanistic values ​​and a strong identity of students from the Faculty of Tourism.

ButPhase 1: From March 10, 2024 to April 12, 2024Fundraising for charitable purposes, recruiting volunteers, conducting preliminary surveys and providing professional training, and assigning implementation tasks.
ButPhase 2: From April 13, 2024 to April 15, 2024Includes the following activities:
1. Construct youth projects "Wishing Tree" and "Colors of Ha Giang" by painting murals to decorate the cultural center of Cao Banh village.
2. Homestay survey and experience farming with the locals (visit and learn about the tea cultivation process; soil preparation; cleaning; planting tea; participating in harvesting tea leaves, etc.).
3. Organize cultural and artistic exchange activities with local people.
4. Organize the distribution of gifts to families in difficult circumstances.
ButPhase 3: From April 16, 2024 to April 30, 2024Develop product reviews in the form of videos and articles, and post them on social media channels to promote the beauty, culture, and agricultural tourism experiences in Cao Banh village, Ha Giang.
The program involves faculty, staff, and students from the Faculty. In addition, there are collaborators both inside and outside the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The expected number is 20 volunteers and 30 collaborators.
Notably, the organizing committee included: the Executive Committee of the Student Union and Student Association of the Faculty of Tourism Studies; and the collaborating partner: Total Education Vietnam.
