The talented Art Club President once lost 12 kg to confidently pursue his passion.

Nguyen Xuan Lam was born in 2003, a son born and raised in Hanoi. Currently, Xuan Lam is majoring in International Relations at the Faculty of International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU. Besides studying, Xuan Lam is also a student who is always at the forefront of cultural and artistic movements at the university. He is currently the head of the school's Art Club.

Xuan Lam said that his artistic talent was revealed from a very young age. He shared: “Since kindergarten, I began to show my first talent, which was painting. At that time, I always dreamed of becoming a painter when I grew up, but I was also very shy, so I was shy and hesitant in front of a crowd.”
The first stages in his childhood were a big stepping stone for the young Xuan Lam to nurture his passion. In primary school, Xuan Lam actively participated in school performances, Phu Dong Sports Festival or summer art activities in the neighborhood. In high school, Xuan Lam decided to study for an art aptitude test to enter the Hanoi University of Architecture but had to give up because of the worries of pursuing a major with few job opportunities in today's society. However, after choosing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, art returned to Xuan Lam once again, helping the young man find himself.During the process of pursuing that dream, Xuan Lam himself has had many significant changes, especially in his appearance. Previously, he used to have an "oversized" appearance that made him feel very self-conscious and did not dare to show himself in front of a crowd. After participating in a dance competition with a dance group at high school, Xuan Lam saw how changing his appearance brought many opportunities. And then, he lost 12 kg in 3 months, which was unbelievable, but it was a process of effort that Xuan Lam is always proud of every time he recalls it.

During his time studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, Xuan Lam actively participated in many cultural and artistic activities of the school so as not to waste four years of his youth. Besides studying, Xuan Lam is also the "flag bearer" in the school's artistic movement as the Chairman of the SOL - USSH Art Club for the 2023 - 2024 term. Along with that, the Hanoi native also entered the final round of the Bach Hoa Khoi 2023 contest, the final round of the Melody of Life English singing contest; top 7 of the USSH Artalent contest... Xuan Lam also participated in performing in large and small art programs in Hanoi and many provinces as a dancer.   With the mindset of a young person, Xuan Lam believes that participating in cultural and artistic movements plays an important role for a student. He expressed: “As the head of an art club, I think that promoting cultural and sports activities in school is extremely important. In recent years, the school has paid much more attention to students' mental health, creating many opportunities for students to try and develop their passions outside of studying. Activities such as singing, dancing, performing, etc. are very useful, helping students to be more active and open.”Sharing his future plans, Xuan Lam said he will try to complete his university program well. After that, he just wants to find a job that suits his abilities, is in line with the International Relations major he has studied for 4 years and continues to pursue his passion for art whenever he has time.
