Nguyen Xuan Lam, born in 2003, is a native of Hanoi. Currently, he is studying International Relations at the Faculty of International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Besides his studies, Xuan Lam is also a leading figure in cultural and artistic activities at his university. He is currently the head of the university's Art Club.

Xuan Lam said that his artistic talent manifested itself from a very young age. He shared: "From kindergarten, I started showing my first talent, which was painting. Back then, I dreamed of becoming an artist when I grew up, but I was also very shy, so I felt hesitant and timid in front of crowds."
The early stages of his childhood were a major stepping stone for young Xuan Lam to nurture his passion. In elementary school, Xuan Lam actively participated in school performances, the Phu Dong Sports Festival, and summer cultural activities in his neighborhood. In high school, Xuan Lam decided to prepare for the art aptitude test to enter Hanoi University of Architecture, but had to give up due to concerns about pursuing a field with limited job opportunities in today's society. However, after choosing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, art returned to Xuan Lam once again, allowing him to rediscover himself.
Throughout his pursuit of that dream, Xuan Lam underwent significant changes, especially in his appearance. Previously, he was overweight, which made him feel self-conscious and hesitant to perform in front of crowds. After participating in a dance competition with his high school dance group, Xuan Lam realized how changing his appearance could open up many opportunities. He then incredibly lost 12 kg in just three months – a feat he was proud of, a result of his hard work and dedication.

Lose 12 kg in 3 months
During his studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi, Xuan Lam actively participated in many cultural and artistic activities of the university, making the most of his four years of youth. Besides his studies, Xuan Lam was also a leading figure in the university's arts movement, serving as the Head of the SOL Art Club - USSH for the 2023-2024 term. In addition, this young man from Hanoi reached the finals of the 2023 Miss Bach Hoa Khoi contest, the finals of the Melody of Life English singing competition; and the top 7 of the USSH Artalent competition… Xuan Lam also performed in various art programs in Hanoi and many other provinces and cities as a dancer.
From a young perspective, Xuan Lam believes that participating in cultural and artistic activities is crucial for students. He expressed: “As the head of an art club, I think promoting cultural and sports activities in the school is extremely important. In recent years, the school has paid much more attention to students' mental health, creating many opportunities for students to try their hand at and develop their passions outside of studying. Activities like singing, dancing, performing, and socializing are very beneficial, helping students become more active and open.”
Sharing his future plans, Xuan Lam said he will try his best to complete his university program successfully. After that, he only hopes to find a job that suits his abilities, is in line with his major in International Relations, which he studied for four years, and continue to pursue his passion for art whenever he has time.
