On the morning of November 7th in Hanoi, the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, celebrated its 30th anniversary.
The year 1990 – exactly 30 years ago – marked the establishment of journalism training and research within a university outside the Party school system, a leading university in training and research in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam – Hanoi University (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thu Huong, Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, stated that from this institution, more than 10,000 journalism students and trainees have spread to all parts of the country, contributing timely news updates, creating a seamless flow of information in society, and connecting information between the Party, the Government, and the people, and between businesses and the public.

"Many alumni are journalists who are always on the front lines during critical times like storms, floods, and natural disasters. Many journalists are leading writers in the fight against corruption and negative practices. Hundreds of alumni have received national journalism awards and national journalism awards from various sectors and levels," Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thu Huong shared.
At the celebration, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded a certificate of merit to the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training for its outstanding achievements in its work.
Speaking at the celebration, Mr. Nguyen The Ky, Director General of the Voice of Vietnam, said that students from the journalism department (now the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training) always have their own unique characteristics.
A unique feature is that the department was established on the basis of the social science departments of the University. The social sciences and humanities character is very evident in the journalism students, and especially in the lecturers within the department.
"People say journalism isn't about writing, but journalism requires a certain literary quality. It's the teachers who have instilled that literary quality in generations of students," Mr. Ky said.

Many staff members received professional training in the Soviet Union, the UK, Australia, South Korea, Russia, etc., and are reputable experts in academia and media research. |
