On October 23rd, 2018, the 22nd Scholarship Granting Ceremony held by Lotte Scholarship Foundation of Lotte Corporation took place at Lotte Hotel Hanoi.

Prof. Dr Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of USSH's Office for Politics and Student Affairs).

The 22nd Lotte Scholarship was granted to 78 students from 8 universities in Hanoi, 5 of whom were from USSH's Faculty of Oriental Studies. The students had strived to overcome their difficulties in life and scored excellent academic and training achievements.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hud Sung Kwan said he hoped this scholarship is going to be a motivation for the students to further realize their dreams in life. He also advised them to create a clear mission and persevere in realizing it. Not only encouraging the students to study more, the President of Lotte Scholarship Foundation advised them to develop interpersonal relationships to ensure a better future. "This is especially important because no one can do everything alone", said Mr. Hud Sung Kwan.

The granting of Lotte scholarship takes place twice a year, signifying Lotte Corporation's desire to contribute to community services and social responsibilities. In addition, the corporation's leader hoped the students today become prospective members of the Corporation in the coming time.

Sharing his emotions after receiving the Lotte scholarship, Hoang Hong Ngoc (student of the 61st class of Division of Korean Studies) said: "As one of the five students receiving the scholarship, I myself feel happy and proud. It will be a great stimulus that drives me to continue studying and training".

The Lotte Scholarship Foundation was established in 1983 aimed at students facing difficult life situations but scoring high academic and intellectual achievements. In 2008, the Lotte Foundation came to Vietnam and through their meaningful scholarships, became a reliable companion of students from universities around Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Lotte Corporation promised to make even more investments to the cultivation of Vietnam's nascent and young talents.
