The journey was split into two consecutive stages:
Stage 1: From May 14th to May 17th, 2019 in Beijing.
The Vietnamese representatives and those from several Asian countries participated in the forum on the responsibilities of youngsters in promoting Asian civilizational heritage at the China National Convention Center, listened to the presentations by leaders and scholars from China, Malaysia, India, South Korea and Singapore on the responsibilities of the youth in creating a common future for the Asian community.
Apart from participating in the workshops and conferences, the Vietnamese representatives took part in some cultural exchanges such as the Asian cultural Festival - a national arts event held at the Beijing National Stadium; visited the Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center - where they experienced Chinese traditional cultural activities such as dyeing fabric, writing Chinese scripts and making statues.

Before leaving Beijing for Kunming, the youth from 6 countries in the Lancang-Mekong region spent time sharing their personal stories about Chinese culture and the initiatives to improve cultural exchanges and understanding among these countries.

Stage 2: from May 17th to May 23rd, 2019 in Kunming, Yunnan Province.
The Vietnamese representatives and those from 5 other countries: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and China moved from Beijing to Kunming to participate in the Program "2019 Lancang-Mekong Young Leaders Cultural Exposure Camp". The program was held by China Youth Association and Yunnan Youth Association with the aim of learning about the common culture of countries in the Lancang-Mekong region through cultural exchange forums and folk art performances filled with the cultural characteristics of the countries.

In addition, the young participants also learned about China's policies towards regional countries, China's economic-educational-cultural development in general and that of the Yunnan's ethnic minorities in particular through visiting Yunnan ethnic culture village, participating in "Yunnan Diversity" - a minority cultural show, visiting the Yunnan information-data center, visiting the Yunnan Primary School, visiting universities and physical therapy centers and Longrun Tea - a famous tea enterprise in Kunming. Finally, the program ended with the discussions between young startup founders in Kunming and the representatives of 6 countries about the event.

The entire event was not only an opportunity for Vietnamese youth to learn and appreciate cultural differences but also an occasion for them to bring the image of Vietnam closer to international friends.
