Seminar "Collecting study materials and using technologies in teaching and research activities"

On May 29th, 2019, USSH's Labor Union held a seminar on "Collecting study materials and using technologies in teaching and research activities" for over 100 staff from VNU Hanoi's member universities, Institutes, Faculties, subordinate units and USSH's labor units.

The seminar's speakers was Dr. Ton Quang Cuong - Dean of Faculty of Educational Technology (University of Education) and Dr. Nguyen Hoang Son - Director of VNU Hanoi's Center for Information-Library. Dr. Ton Quang Cuong presented about the new developments in using technologies in the world and their application in educational affairs in Vietnam. In addition to asserting the importance of applying techonologies in teaching and research activities at universities, the speaker pointed out some challenges such as the reticence towards social interactions, cheating in academic settings and dependence on technologies...leading to "technophobia".

Dr. Nguyen Hoang Son introduced about the current database of VNU Hanoi's Center for Information-Library that effectively supports the collection of academic materials for teaching and research activities. As the unit directly responsible for students and staff's materials, the Center has actively applied new approaches to collecting materials, most notable of which is gathering materials on websites and apps used on smart phones or tablets. 

At the seminar, the stafff of the Center for Information-Library directly instructed the audience to access the diverse online materials it offers.
