For many, Sino-Vietnamese script (Hán Nôm) seems quite unfamiliar because it has long ceased to be the official writing system of the nation. However, in reality, the values this writing system brings are very close to the lives of individuals in modern society. A conversation with Dr. Dinh Thanh Hieu (Deputy Head of the Literature Department, Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities) will help us understand the role of Sino-Vietnamese studies as well as the career prospects of this field.
