Linguistics: Towards Application and Interdisciplinary Studies

Linguistics is one of the oldest departments at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and is a leading institution nationwide in research and training high-quality human resources in the field of linguistics. In recent years, the department's training program has been adjusted towards applied and interdisciplinary approaches, thus meeting the practical needs of society. As a result, the employment rate for linguistics graduates in their field of study consistently exceeds 90%. We had a conversation with Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Cam Lan, Head of the Linguistics Department, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, about the training program and the department's current and future direction.
