11.1. Purpose and research objects of the thesis
- The research purpose of the thesis is to focus on clarifying the basic contents of the current social security policy of the Federal Republic of Germany and policy suggestions for Vietnam to answer two main research questions: (1) What are the basic factors that have contributed to the success of the social security policy of the Federal Republic of Germany? (2) Can Vietnam learn from the experiences of the Federal Republic of Germany in developing the social security policy system?
- The research object of the thesis is the social security policy of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1990 to 2021, and the social security policy of Vietnam during the period of national renovation.
11.2. Research methods used
The thesis topic belongs to the field of Political Science, therefore, it is carried out based on the methodology of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the viewpoints of the Communist Party of Vietnam in political and policy research.
The thesis uses interdisciplinary research methods, combining research methods in social sciences and humanities, focusing on methods such as logic and history, analysis, statistics, comparison, interviews... in collecting and researching relevant sources of documents to sketch a panoramic picture of social security policy in the Federal Republic since the country's reunification until now.

+ The thesis clarifies the main contents of implementing social security policy in the Federal Republic of Germany, including:
Firstly, the factors affecting the implementation of social security policies in the Federal Republic of Germany include: Natural conditions, socio-economic, cultural, religious; Political system and the role of the government and non-governmental organizations. In particular, the thesis analyzed the political and social philosophy of the market economy model - an important factor affecting the social security policy system in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Second, the thesis analyzed the content and characteristics of the social security policy system in the Federal Republic of Germany; clarified the achievements, limitations and trends of social security policy reform in the Federal Republic of Germany.
