10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
- To collect and systematize documents on the policies and directives of the Communist Party of Vietnam regarding the adjustment of Hanoi's administrative boundaries from 1978 to 2008, in order to supplement the archive of documents on Thang Long - Hanoi and contribute to research on Hanoi in general and its administrative boundaries in particular.
- Contributing to clarifying the viewpoints, policies, and guidance process of the Communist Party of Vietnam in adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hanoi; objectively reconstructing the picture of the changes in the administrative boundaries of Hanoi during the years 1978-2008; thereby contributing to affirming the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam in adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hanoi from 1978 to 2008.
- To provide assessments and comments on the advantages and limitations of leadership in adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hanoi during the research period of the thesis, and to draw lessons to serve the leadership and direction of building and protecting the Capital in general and in issues related to the city's administrative boundaries in particular.

- Has contributed to clarify the policy content, the leading process of the Vietnam Communist Party to adjust the administrative boundaries of Hanoi in the years 1978 - 2008; as well as the resurrection of an objective picture about the change of Hanoi's administrative boundaries during these years.
- Has raised the advantages, limitations and drawn the historical experiences for leaders to construct, protect the Capital in general and in issues related to the administrative boundaries.

The thesis can be used as a reference for leaders to construct, protect the Capital in general and in issues related to the administrative boundaries. The thesis is also a reference for reseaching, teaching or learning about the history of Hanoi in the modern tense.

Continue to research about the history of Vietnamese cities in the modern tense (Hanoi and other cities), especialy, continue to do some researches about the impacts on socio-economic, cultural and sustainable development of Hanoi against the backdrop of those boundary adjustments.
