10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

This thesis contributes to the theoretical research system on parental guidance and self-assessment. It clarifies the influence of parental guidance on the self-assessment of junior high school students and identifies the factors affecting students' self-assessment.

Practical research results show that: assessments of parents' parenting styles correlate with students' self-assessment. Specifically, students who rate their parents as having democratic and liberal/lenient parenting styles have a positive correlation with their self-assessment in the areas of emotions, future, and family. Students who rate their parents as having authoritarian parenting styles have a negative correlation with their self-assessment in these areas.

Students assessed that parents with democratic and authoritarian parenting styles had the greatest impact on their self-assessment of their families, while students assessed that parents with liberal parenting styles had the greatest impact on their self-assessment of their future.

The research results also indicate that, in combined parenting styles, students perceive that a combination of democratic parenting and authoritarian parenting styles impacts their self-assessment within their families. Simultaneously, the research also shows that parental parenting combined with attention to their children's emotional lives is a factor that enhances students' self-assessment.

Several factors influence parental parenting styles, including those related to the child's characteristics: extroverted children and firstborn children tend to rate their parents as more authoritarian than introverted children and second-born children. Students' self-assessment is influenced by factors such as gender, introversion/extroversion type, school, and classroom.

11. Practical applications:

The research findings of this thesis serve as a valuable reference for teaching Family Psychology, Child and Adolescent Counseling, Family Counseling, School Counseling, and for practical applications related to providing psychological support to students and parents.

12. Future research directions:

The topic also suggests several issues that need further expansion in subsequent research, such as: Research on parents to compare parents' and children's assessments of the same issue of combined parenting and self-assessment, and to see how these differ. Research on designing a scale that can specifically measure parents' combined parenting and self-assessment.
