10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
This dissertation has contributed to the sociological knowledge regarding access to and utilization of social services for the elderly in Hanoi.
By combining quantitative and qualitative research methods from Sociology, this thesis has identified social services that assist the elderly in Hanoi.
The thesis investigated the current situation regarding the use and satisfaction of elderly people receiving services that support their material well-being, based on factors such as employment, income through social insurance and social assistance, and health insurance coverage.
The thesis investigated the current situation regarding the use and satisfaction of elderly people receiving healthcare services at medical facilities and other healthcare services in the community.
This thesis investigated the current situation regarding the use and satisfaction of elderly people receiving cultural, mental, physical, informational, and other social services.
The desires of the elderly regarding the use of social services and the role of providers of elderly care services in the context of public and market-based services. Trends in the development of social services to meet the needs of the elderly, oriented towards public services and market mechanisms.
Finally, the study proposed several solutions and recommendations to promote and improve policies for providing social services to the elderly.
11. Practical applications:
1/ The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health in general, and social service providers in particular can refer to the key findings of the thesis, thereby using them as a basis to develop more comprehensive solutions in providing services in both public and market-based approaches to meet the needs of the elderly.
2. To create reference and teaching materials on health/medical sociology and social work with the elderly at universities and other educational institutions.

Developing elderly care services in Vietnam according to market mechanisms.

10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
The thesis has added scientific knowledge in sociology in assessment and use of social services for the elderly in Hanoi. By combining the use of survey methods of quantitative and qualitative in sociology, the thesis has identified social assistance services for the elderly in Hanoi.
The thesis finds out the status of use, satisfaction of the elderly who benefit from physical life support services through the elements of employment, income through social security and social assistance, health insurance.
This thesis finds out the status of use, satisfaction of the elderly who are benefiting from health care services at health facilities and other health care services in the community.
This thesis finds out the status of use, satisfaction of the elderly who benefit from culture, spirit, sports, information and other social services.
The elderly desire to use social services and the role of service providers of all care services follow the public service and market services trends. Trends in development of social services to meet the needs of the elderly towards public service and market mechanisms.
Finally, the thesis has suggested some solutions and recommendations aimed at promoting and completion of policies related to providing social services for the elderly.
11. Practical applicability, if any:
Ministry of Labor Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health in general and social services providers in particular can refer to the main findings of the thesis, From these findings as a basis for building solutions for further improvement in the services provision in following the public service and market mechanism trends to meet the needs of the elderly.
Using as reference and teaching in sociology health / medical, social work with elderly in the universities and other educational establishments.
