10. Summary of new results of the thesis:

As a research project on the livelihood of the Dan Lai people in Con Cuong district, Nghe An province, from an ethnographic/anthropological perspective, the thesis has systematically and comprehensively clarified the changes and responses of the Dan Lai people to the impacts of State policies on their livelihood and cultural and social life in the research area.

Thereby, the thesis shows the inadequacies and limitations of policies and state support, thereby providing policy suggestions for sustainable livelihood development for the Dan Lai group at present and in the future.

In addition to the above scientific and practical values, the thesis contains rich, updated, and accurate field data on Pu Mat National Park, the Dan Lai people, and their current and past livelihoods.

The entire research results of the thesis are presented in the above forms, directly contributing to promoting the research direction on the Dan Lai people in Con Cuong district, Nghe An province in particular and in Vietnam in general.

12. Practical application:

The thesis is used as a reference for research on a number of issues that the Party and State are interested in in Vietnam, such as ethnic minorities, issues of development and transformation of ethnic minority livelihoods in ethnic minority areas, etc.

At the same time, the thesis is also a useful document for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Ethnology/Anthropology and some social sciences and humanities with content related to ethnic issues, ethnic policies and development in Vietnam.

The policy recommendations of the thesis are scientifically and practically based advice for state management at both local and central levels in solving ethnic minority issues, sustainable development, and conservation of natural resources in the study area, including Pu Mat National Park, and the livelihoods of the Dan Lai people in the present and future periods.

13. Further research directions:

The thesis suggests a number of important issues that need to be further studied, such as using specialized and interdisciplinary research approaches to expand more comprehensive research on the Dan Lai people in all economic, cultural, social and environmental aspects in Con Cuong district, Nghe An province in relation to the state's policies on forest conservation and natural resources at the local and central levels for the goal of sustainable development for both the state and the Dan Lai people.

From ethnological/anthropolic perspectives, this thesis comprehensively examines Dan Lai people's traditional livelihoods, livelihood changes in Con Cuong district, Nghe An province and their coping with effects of State's policies on their socio-cultural lives.

The thesis shows to how, what extends and in what ways inadequacies and limits of State policies and supports to the Dan Lai people are, and proposes practical recommendations for policy-making and implementation to achieve sustainable livelihood development of Dan Lai people.

In addition, the thesis contains a good source of rich and up-to-date information collected from the field about Pu Mat National Park, Dan Lai people, and their livelihood changes at the time under study and in the past.

The thesis's above results directly contribute to promoting research on Dan Lai people in Con Cuong district, Nghe An province in particular and in Vietnam in general.

11. Applicability of the thesis:

The thesis is a good source of reference for basic and applied research on a number of key issues that are of great importance to the Party and State in contemporary Vietnam, including ethnic settlements, issues of development and livelihood change in ethnic regions...

The thesis can also be used for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in ethnology/anthropology and other disciplines in social sciences and humanities that cover ethnic issues, ethnic policies and development in Vietnam.

The thesis has proposed various policy recommendations, which are based on practical findings, for government agencies at both local and national levels in their management and addressing ethnic minority issues, sustainable development, and conservation of natural resources in the area under study, including Pu Mat National Park and Dan Lai people's livelihoods now and in the future.
