- This dissertation systematizes the main written documents related to the way medieval regimes treated the Nôm script and Nôm literary life.
- This dissertation analyzes specific manifestations considered as "methods of behavior" of medieval regimes towards the Nôm script and Nôm literary life through written documents.
- This dissertation contributes to a renewed understanding of Nôm literature by explaining the "methods of interaction" of medieval regimes with Nôm script and Nôm literary life within the medieval cultural environment.
- This dissertation contributes to a more objective view of the development of medieval Vietnamese literature, initially aiming to overcome biased perceptions of how political regimes treated Nôm script and Nôm literature, which often held that Nôm script and Nôm literature were always looked down upon; it explains the internal and historical factors that shaped the way Nôm script and Nôm literature were treated.
- This dissertation contributes to improving the quality of research and teaching of Nôm literature in particular and vernacular literature in general.
