Trauma in children leaves long-lasting consequences on all aspects of their lives, including physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral development. The effects of trauma are not limited to the present moment; they leave lasting traumas that impact the child's development and personality formation.
This study provides an overview of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The author also focuses on evaluating and analyzing the psychological issues of a child client exhibiting symptoms of PTSD. The therapeutic strategy for the client includes: cognitive modification, behavioral modification, and emotional regulation. The therapeutic methods used include: cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotional-behavioral therapy (REBT), behavioral techniques such as behavioral rehearsal, emotional techniques, imagination techniques, and cognitive techniques such as self-talk and correction of misconceptions. These techniques help the client achieve emotional balance, develop appropriate behaviors, improve coping abilities, and establish positive relationships with family members and society.
