10. Summary of thesis results:
Psychological trauma in children leaves long-term consequences on all aspects of the child's physical, emotional, cognitive and behavioral health. The effects of trauma are not only present but also leave long-term haunting effects on the child's development and personality.
In this study, the author has provided an overview of the problem of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The author also focused on assessing and analyzing the psychological problems of a child client with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Therapeutic strategies for the client include: cognitive change, behavioral change, emotional regulation. Using therapeutic methods: cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotional behavioral therapy (REBT), behavioral techniques: behavioral rehearsal, emotional techniques, imagination techniques, cognitive techniques: self-talk, correcting misconceptions, thereby helping the client have emotional balance, appropriate behaviors, increase the ability to cope with stress, establish good relationships between children and family members, between children and society.
11. Practical application:
The thesis is a process of assessing, diagnosing and intervening in a clinical case. The treatment plan is built to help the client have a stable psychological foundation, with skills to cope with stress in each difficult situation. The thesis's theory focuses on the topic of post-traumatic stress disorder, the research results will be the premise for developing case studies on post-traumatic stress disorder in children in Vietnam in the future.
