11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
- This dissertation is a systematic and in-depth study of print media currently distributed to ethnic minority and mountainous regions in Vietnam. Research on media distribution to ethnic minority and mountainous regions is research on media for a specific target group.
- This dissertation provides scientific arguments, contributing to the supplementation and development of the Party's theoretical system on print media for ethnic minority and mountainous regions; and on the leadership and management of media for specific target groups serving development and sustainable development.
- The thesis has systematized the concepts, theoretical foundations, and practices related to the topic. From there, it supplements and develops the theory of journalism at the level of ethnic minorities and mountainous regions in Vietnam, approaching it from the perspective of development media.
- The thesis surveyed and evaluated the current situation, quality, and effectiveness of printed newspapers distributed to ethnic minority and mountainous regions in Vietnam; it identified successes and limitations, and the causes of these successes and limitations.
- The thesis has proposed several solutions and recommendations to improve the quality and innovation of communication in ethnic minority and mountainous regions today. This contributes to influencing and promoting sustainable development in ethnic minority and mountainous regions in particular, and sustainable development in Vietnam in general.
12. Practical applications:
- This dissertation will propose to the Party and the State (especially the agencies directing and managing the press such as the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association) scientific arguments for formulating policies to strengthen the operation of free print newspapers to serve the sustainable development of ethnic minority and mountainous regions in particular, and the sustainable development of Vietnam in general.
- The research findings of this dissertation help local leaders, agencies, and functional departments in ethnic minority and mountainous regions to better understand the role of media, especially print media, the methods, mechanisms, content, and formats of free print newspapers for ethnic minorities and mountainous communities, in order to change the behavior and perceptions of the recipients.
- The research findings and proposals of this project have great practical significance for stakeholders and participants in the process of building and implementing sustainable development goals for ethnic minority and mountainous regions, including: managers, media agencies, social organizations, businesses, scientists, trainers, and especially for the local community as the subjects of sustainable development.
