The thesis "The State of the Arms Race Among Several Major Powers in the Period 2017-2022" has achieved several notable results as follows:
Based on theories of international relations and a multi-level analytical approach, this thesis clarifies how the participation of major powers in the arms race to develop new weapons and high-tech weapons is increasing the risk of conflict and war; threatening world security and stability, leading to many serious consequences and profoundly impacting many aspects of international relations.
- Analyzing the policy dynamics and strategic adjustments in defense of several major countries, particularly the arms race among some superpowers during the period 2017-2022.
- Analyze the causes and main factors of the arms race. Based on this, provide objective and comprehensive assessments and observations.

The thesis titled “Reality of the arms race among great powers (2017 – 2022) has obtained some remarkable results as follows:
- Based on the theory of international relations and approaches of levels of analysis, the thesis clarifies the participation of great powers in the race of developing new weapons, high-tech weapons that increases the threat of occurring conflict and war, threatens world security and stability, causes numbers of serious consequences, and deeply affects many aspects of international relations.
- Analysis of movement in policies and adjustments in national defense strategy of great powers, especially the fact of the arms race among great powers in
period of 2017-2022.
- Analysing the causes, main factors and impacts of the arms race. From that basic, the thesis gives out series of objective, comprehensive and specified evaluations and comments to the fact of the arms race of great power during the period 2017-2022.
- Forecast the situation of arms race of great powers after 2022 in increasing the budget of national defense, export-import activities of weapons, promoting research and development new weapons, especially strategic weapons; the impacts to region; policy implicate of external affairs of Vietnam.
