On the morning of January 20, 2026, a delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH), led by Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector, held a comprehensive cooperation exchange with Khon Kaen University (KKU), represented by Associate Professor Dr. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, Director.
In a respectful and cordial atmosphere, the two sides discussed and agreed on the following matters:
1. Publication collaboration (directly with Mekong Societies Magazine of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University).
2. Organize a joint seminar between the two universities: The content will cover topics such as Vietnamese Studies and Thai Studies; Southeast Asian International Relations; Mekong Studies; Local Governance; Transboundary Ethnic Groups, etc.
3. Collaborative faculty exchange: teaching Thai (for students aspiring to become general education teachers), and providing English language instruction (onsite and offline).
4. Feasibility of establishing a Center for Vietnamese Studies at Khon Kaen University.
5. Organize an international conference to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand (in collaboration with Thammasat University).
6. Implement Summer Camp programs between VNU-USSH and KKU.
7. Participate in and organize cultural and diplomatic activities between VNU-USSH and KKU to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
8. Jointly organize a series of academic lectures on Vietnamese Studies and Thai Studies.
9. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities invites KKU to participate in the Vietnamese language and culture teaching channel for overseas Vietnamese.
A delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities visited and worked with Khon Kaen University.
The delegation also visited and discussed cooperation with three units of Khon Kaen University: the School of Architecture and Design, the Faculty of Economics, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. These can be considered practical, effective, and politically and socially significant activities, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
