On the morning of January 24, 2026, a delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, led by Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector, held a cooperation exchange with Shanghai Foreign Language University, China. The delegation was welcomed by Professor Yi Yonggang, Vice Rector of Shanghai Foreign Language University.
Based on shared ideas about the digital age, interdisciplinary approaches, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, the two sides discussed and agreed on research content, academic exchanges, and the organization of joint conferences on interdisciplinary issues in the social sciences and humanities, in which language and foreign languages play a fundamental role.
Both sides also agreed to develop a joint cooperation plan for faculty and student exchange. Initially, Shanghai Foreign Language University will send 10 students to USSH to study Vietnamese starting in September 2026.
The two sides also exchanged views and agreed on cooperation plans in Law, Public Administration, Political Science, Anthropology, History, etc., aiming to contribute to the socio-economic development of Vietnam and China. In addition, they also discussed and shared potential collaborations regarding the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Social Sciences and Humanities, Cognitive Sciences, Cognitive Linguistics, Language and AI, and Linguistic Therapy.


Shanghai Foreign Languages University (SISU) is a national key university in China, renowned for its strengths in language training, translation and interpretation, and international studies.
