On the morning of April 2nd, 2026, at the French Overseas Archives Center (ANOM) in Aix-en Provence, the delegation held a working session with Mr. Romain JOULIA, Director of the Center, and his colleagues regarding a cooperation exchange program between the Center and the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management. During the meeting, the Center highly appreciated the collaborative activities that have been implemented between the two sides in the past.
Following up on the successful collaborations, the two sides discussed plans to organize a training course on "Enhancing the Management Capacity of Archival Document Digitization Projects." This is a collaborative activity between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Aix-Marseille University, with the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management designated as the coordinating unit. The French Overseas Archives Center agreed to be the venue for trainees to visit and exchange experiences on organizing document digitization projects and effectively utilizing digitized archival documents.

Subsequently, on the morning of April 10, 2026, in Paris, the delegation from the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management held a meeting with Dr. Elsa MARGUIN-HAMON, Director of Research and International Relations at École Nationale des Chartes. Also present were Professor Pascal Bourdeaux and Professor Marc Bui – from the School of Advanced Studies (École Pratique des Hautes Études Paris (EPHE)) and visiting lecturers at École Nationale des Chartes. This is one of the oldest and most prestigious training institutions in France in the fields of archival studies and paleography.
The discussions between the parties focused on the progress of developing a master's program in archival digitization. This project was initiated by Aix-Marseille University and the Association of French-Speaking Universities (AUF) and has received the approval in principle from Vietnam National University, Hanoi. According to the cooperation plan, École Nationale des Chartes will collaborate with Aix-Marseille University in developing the program; support training and capacity building for faculty and staff of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management; and promote knowledge transfer through the translation of monographs, textbooks, online training programs on digitization, and the development of digital humanities projects.
Besides cooperation in training, École Nationale des Chartes also agreed to promote collaborative scientific research activities, exchange of lecturers, students and postgraduate researchers with the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management in the future.
The results achieved from this series of working activities further demonstrate the prospects for increasingly deeper cooperation between the Faculty and professional partners in the Republic of France, while also creating an important foundation for the implementation of specific cooperation programs in the next phase.
