Student scientific research is a professional activity that attracts a large number of student participants every year. During the research process, students participate in discussions on "Research Methods in Psychology" to further equip themselves with knowledge and scientific research skills. Every year, students from the Faculty also win many important awards at student scientific conferences at various levels, such as: Second and Third prizes at the Ministry level in the 2020-2021 academic year, First prize at the Ministry level in the 2017-2018 academic year, Second prize at the National University level in the 2016-2017 academic year, Third prize at the National University level in the 2015-2016 academic year; and Second prize at the National University level in the 2014-2015 academic year.
Students in the Faculty are very excited and looking forward to an annual professional activity, especially first-year students, which is the seminar "Study Methods at the University Level". This seminar is an opportunity for first-year students to better understand university-level learning, thereby becoming more prepared and proactive in their studies. In addition, students are very interested in scientific workshops and seminars with experts. Through these professional activities, students not only have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of psychology but also to hone their foreign language skills. These professional activities are a great opportunity for students to meet domestic and international psychology experts and exchange interesting insights into psychology with their peers. The international workshop "Psychological Trauma and Support Activities," the scientific seminar "Similarities and Differences Between Psychologists, Counselors, and Social Workers," "Neuroscience and Mental Health," "Educational Psychology in China," "Psychological Supervision for Practicing Psychologists," "Understanding Issues in Positive Psychology," "The Esther Bick Method of Newborn Observation," "Some Suggestions for Assessing and Treating Clients with Suicidal Thoughts," "Assessment and Treatment of Clients Who Have Been Sexually Abused," "Mental Health Care Services in ASEAN," "What Do Studies on Mother Rats Tell Us About Depression?"... presented by experts from China, the United States, Belgium, France, and many other countries around the world, are highly meaningful professional activities for students.
Besides their professional activities, students in the Psychology Department are very enthusiastic and actively participate in extracurricular activities. Notable and beneficial extracurricular activities in the 2016-2017 academic year include: "Green Humanities," contributing to a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful school environment; the "Passing the Torch in March" tribute ceremony, paying respects to fallen heroes at the Hanoi City Martyrs' Cemetery; the "Dream Books" charity program at the Oncology Department of the National Children's Hospital; the Francophone Day - Soirée Francophone; exchanges with students from the Psychology Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City; the "Circle of Love" festival at the Children's Palace; and the "Youth Union Day and Vietnamese-International Student Exchange" program.
