In response to the requirements of improving the quality of training and international cooperation, scientific research has become a mandatory activity for staff, postgraduates, graduate students and students in the Faculty. Up to now, the number of permanent staff of the Faculty has participated in 104 research projects (02 state-level branch projects; 18 ministerial-level projects; 02 provincial-level projects; 54 national university-level projects; 28 school-level projects); 8 international projects; 19 monographs, from 40 to 50 articles published annually in national and international journals, 30 accepted textbooks and lectures, from 15 to 2 student scientific research projects each year.
Currently, the Faculty is focusing on the following main research directions:
• Psychosocial problems of different social groups.
• Mental health issues.
• Research on psychopathology as well as mental quality of life in the fields of health, school, community, and labor.
• Psychological and social issues related to climate change, non-traditional security, etc.
In the past time, the Faculty has successfully organized and co-organized 13 major international conferences:
• “Children-Culture-Education”, Hanoi, October 2000.
• “Children, adolescents and assistance”, Hanoi, November 2003.
• “Rural Migration and Regional Development”, Quebec-Canada, November 2005.
• “Rural areas in transition”, Hanoi, November 2006.
• “Culture in globalization”, Hanoi, July 2007.
• “Culture in globalization - Psychological approach”, Hanoi, July 24-25, 2008.
• “Needs, orientation and training of School Psychology in Vietnam”, November 2010.
• “The reality of psychological trauma of victims of toxic chemicals used in the Vietnam War and support models”, Hanoi, March 2010.
• “Training, research and application of Psychology in the context of international integration”, November 2012.
• "Psychological trauma and support activities", November 2016.
• “Human Happiness and Sustainable Development”, November 2017 (co-organized with the Institute of Psychology and the International Organization of Applied Psychology).
• “Health behavior in modern society”, November 2019 (co-organized with the University of Gdansk, Poland and the National Institute of Mental Health).
• “The world in crisis: the contribution of Psychology”, 12/2022 (co-organized with the University of Toulouse Jeans Jaurès, the Adepase organization and the National Institute of Mental Health).
