The Faculty's undergraduate and graduate students are trained comprehensively, equipped with theoretical knowledge combined with practical experience and research practice in communities, museums, NGOs, and have the opportunity to interact with international students and scientists.
With the teaching motto of putting students at the center, the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies always supports students to develop their thinking and practice according to their abilities and passions. Many undergraduate and graduate students have devoted themselves to exploring interesting scientific research topics related to culture and human society in Vietnam and other countries in the region. Some students, graduate students and researchers of the Faculty have won scholarships to study abroad for short and long terms.
The department always identifies the goal of taking students as the center and needs to be served. Students of Religious Studies are always given the best conditions in learning: from information about training programs, subjects, exploiting and using learning materials (books, textbooks, magazines, online data) to participating in scientific research under the guidance and teaching of a team of prestigious professors, doctors, lecturers...
Students from families with preferential policies such as: children of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, Agent Orange victims... are all promptly proposed by the Department to the School's Political and Student Affairs Office to resolve preferential educational subsidies according to regulations. In addition to the study encouragement scholarships according to regulations and scholarships sponsored by domestic and foreign organizations and individuals of the School and the Department. The QH-2016-X full-time Religious Studies course was awarded 05 scholarships worth 5 million/scholarship, the QH-2016-X part-time study and work program HVL was awarded 04 scholarships worth 5 million/scholarship sponsored by My Son Group in the 2016-2017 school year.
With the strength of being the only place in Vietnam to train Religious Studies systematically from bachelor, master and doctoral levels, the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies is interested in creating all favorable conditions for the scientific research movement to truly become a widespread activity among students, attracting more and more students to participate with increasing scale and quality. The first course of Bachelor of Religious Studies QH-2016-X has 22 scientific reports out of a total of 40 students, achieving the following results: 07 reports won prizes at the Department level, 01 report won third prize at the School level, and a collective third prize in Student Scientific Research. Students with high results in scientific research will have their points added to their academic achievements as well as have the opportunity to receive many scholarships from domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises; have the opportunity to study abroad and may be recommended by the Department to be retained by the School as a lecturer after graduation.
Students can also participate and test themselves in all fields: culture, art, society, community activities... Movement activities are regularly deployed throughout the school year organized by the Youth Union, Student Association of the School, Department such as: activities to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Gottalent USSH contest, Football, Miss & Mrs USSH....
Every year, students of the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies also enthusiastically register to participate in volunteer activities with main activities such as: "Supporting the entrance exam season for specialized high schools", "Supporting the entrance exam season for universities and colleges", "Surviving in localities", "Student team mobilizing for humanitarian blood donation", "Student volunteer team working for the environment"... Students have the opportunity to participate as members of the school's clubs such as Sol Club, Garnet Club, Hoa Da Club, Rumbo Club, Bach Dien Club, Cultural and historical propaganda club...
The Faculty regularly organizes extracurricular activities related to expertise and field trips: visiting temples, historical and cultural relics for students... In the 2016-2017 school year, the QH-2016-X Religious Studies course had field trips, surveying ancient temples in the Hanoi area, visiting Tam Dao - Tay Thien - Truc Lam Zen Monastery, visiting Hanoi Cathedral...
