General introduction

The Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi (SJHN) is a unit directly under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), established by Decision No. 1816/QD/XHNV-TC dated September 21, 2011, based on the development of the Korean Language and Korean Studies Center and a cooperation agreement between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Busan University of Foreign Studies (South Korea). The Center's mission is to organize short-term training courses, conduct exams and issue international Korean language proficiency certificates (KPL), and offer other courses related to Korean language and culture for Vietnamese people.

With the combined strength of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - a long-standing and leading institution in Vietnam in creating and disseminating knowledge in the social sciences and humanities - and Busan University of Foreign Studies - one of the most prestigious universities in Korea in the field of Korean language teaching, the Sejong Korean Language Center in Hanoi is aiming for international standards in Korean language and culture training.

The diversity and modernity of the training programs, the high professional qualifications of the Korean teaching staff, and the professionalism in organization and management with a streamlined organizational structure – these are the advantages that the Sejong Korean Language Center in Hanoi uses to conduct training courses, exams, and issue certificates in Korean language and culture that meet the national quality standards of Korea. Training activities

Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi introduces to students a Korean language training program based on the Korean national standard compiled by KSI. The training program consists of 6 levels: BeginnerLevel I, Elementary Level II, Intermediate Level I, Intermediate Level II, Advanced Level I, and Advanced Level IIAfter completing all levels of study at the center, students can use Korean fluently, are capable of working in organizations and businesses related to Korea, or continue their studies at prestigious Korean universities.

Students will learn Korean quickly and effectively with the modern curriculum of the Sejong Institute. Accordingly, the Korean language courses are all practical-oriented, with a particular emphasis on communication skills. Upon completion of each level, students will receive a certificate issued by the President of Busan University of Foreign Studies, South Korea.

Students who achieve excellent academic results after each level will be awarded a scholarship covering 50% of the tuition fee for the next course. Those who graduate with excellent grades will receive a scholarship from Busan University of Foreign Studies to continue their studies at Busan University of Foreign Studies. With a certificate of completion, students can work in organizations and businesses related to Korea in Vietnam or pursue further studies at universities in Korea.

The training courses include:

- Korean language focus(100% Korean teachers).

The course consists of 6 levels, each lasting 10 weeks (200 hours), with 5 sessions per week, each session lasting 4 hours, from 08:00 to 12:00.

- Semi-intensive Korean language course(100% Korean teachers).

The course consists of 12 levels, each lasting 10 weeks (90 hours), with 3 sessions per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday), each session lasting 3 hours, from 17:50 to 20:30.

- Korean language services (on behalf of others)

We offer customized training programs based on schedules and levels, meeting the needs of administrative agencies, schools, businesses, etc., in areas such as Korean language and culture. Organizations and individuals interested should contact the Center's office.

- Korean language certificate for those applying for a marriage visa with a Korean citizen.

Since March 2014, the Sejong Korean Language Center has been designated by the Korean Ministry of Justice as one of eight training facilities in Vietnam (one of 127 training facilities worldwide) authorized to provide training and certification for individuals seeking a marriage visa with a Korean national.

The center currently offers courses in batches, lasting 16 weeks, with 30 students per class, 3 sessions per week, and a tuition fee of 3,000,000 VND. The instructors are qualified and experienced Korean and Vietnamese teachers.

Cultural activities

The curriculum closely integrates theoretical learning, classroom practice, and systematic self-study at home; it emphasizes engaging and fun activities in the classroom such as language games, role-playing, music, and movie watching.

Other activities

The center actively supports students in applying for scholarships and introduces them to exchange programs or short-term training courses in Korea through the results of the annual Korean speaking competition. Through this, students have more opportunities to develop their Korean language skills.
