In addition to its training mission, the Institute of Journalism and Communication is also one of the leading centers for journalism and communication research in the country. The Institute is a center for basic research, applied research and implementation of research results to serve the training and research activities of journalism and communication of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; compiles documents and scientific information on the field of journalism and communication to serve training and consulting for ministries, branches, organizations, businesses and society.

Scientific research topic

  • Accepted 12 research topics at VNU level (with good and excellent results); 20 research topics at school level (with good and excellent results); 03 scientific research topics at State level.
  • Currently implementing 01 State-level scientific research project, 6 VNU-Hanoi-level projects and many school-level projects along with scientific projects in coordination with domestic ministries and agencies.
  • More than 300 scientific articles of lecturers, many articles in the WoS/Scopus system and books, book chapters published by prestigious international publishers; published in scientific, theoretical, specialized journals or reported at conferences at home and abroad.

Scientific conference
Many domestic and international scientific conferences organized by the Institute in recent years have attracted the attention and participation of hundreds of Vietnamese and foreign scientists. Many conferences have resonated in the research community, and at the same time, provided many recommendations and solutions to contribute to relevant agencies to manage and promote the improvement of the quality of journalism and communication in Vietnam today:

Textbooks, monographs
The Institute's lecturers have compiled more than 23 textbooks and 30 specialized lectures, nearly 30 monographs, and translated more than 15 documents on foreign press.
