Closing ceremony of the 470th AUN-QA external evaluation.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has two training programs undergoing external evaluation: Bachelor of History and Master of Clinical Psychology.
Today, October 2nd, 2025, the closing session of the 470th AUN-QA external evaluation for four training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was held.
The closing ceremony was attended by leaders of Hanoi National University, leaders, staff, lecturers, and students from the two universities whose training programs participated in the external evaluation.
During the meeting, the AUN-QA expert team presented preliminary conclusions from the external evaluation and offered recommendations to improve the quality of the training programs. Prior to this, as part of the external evaluation, the AUN-QA expert team visited the university's facilities (lecture halls, dormitories, etc.), conducted in-depth interviews with leaders, staff, and lecturers of the training units, met with students and alumni, and met with organizations and businesses that have recruited graduates from the training programs.
According to AUN-QA's educational accreditation standards, key aspects of the training program were evaluated, such as: program objectives and learning outcomes, teaching content, teaching methods, assessment methods, quality assurance activities, faculty and students, facilities and student support… Based on this, the evaluation team will provide advice to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi to improve and enhance the quality of its training programs.
 
Representatives from AUN-QA provided a detailed assessment of the program's strengths, areas for improvement, and recommendations based on AUN's general evaluation criteria.
In his closing remarks, Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasized that the external evaluation according to AUN-QA standards was an opportunity for the university to deeply reflect on its strengths as well as areas for improvement with honesty, courage, and a commitment to development. The feedback from education experts from leading universities in the region provided important recommendations, helping the university improve its quality to international standards and integrate more strongly into the region.
The Chairman of the University Council emphasized the commitment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to adopting and implementing the recommendations, while strengthening the culture of continuous quality improvement.
Chairman of the School Board Bui Thanh Nam emphasized the school's commitment to a culture of quality.
With a philosophy and core value that considers training quality and quality assurance, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, has consistently implemented quality accreditation activities according to domestic and international standards.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, currently offers 28 undergraduate programs, 37 master's programs, 32 doctoral programs, along with numerous short-term and joint training programs.
Since 2022, the school has issued a Quality Assurance Policy according to Decision No. 2550/QD-XHNV dated September 15, 2022. The school has also issued key regulations related to internal quality assurance, including: Regulations on Quality Assurance Activities; Regulations on the Internal Quality Assurance Information System and Educational Quality Benchmarking. Annually, the school publishes the "Three Transparencies" report according to Circular No. 36/2017/TT-BGDĐT dated December 28, 2017. This report publicly affirms the school's commitments regarding training quality, actual training results, quality assurance conditions, and financial transparency.
As of the end of May 2025, the university had 7 undergraduate programs accredited according to AUN-QA standards; 18 undergraduate programs evaluated according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (of which 3 programs have completed the evaluation and are awaiting certification); 3 master's programs evaluated according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (results are available and are awaiting certification); 100% of undergraduate programs and 2 master's programs have undergone peer review.
In addition, USSH regularly conducts stakeholder surveys to assess satisfaction levels regarding educational quality, and organizes numerous exchange and consultation activities with international scholars to improve the design and implementation of training programs.
