Closing ceremony of the 470th AUN-QA external assessment

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 02 training programs that conduct external evaluation, including: Bachelor of History and Master of Clinical Psychology.
Today, October 2, 2025, the closing session of the 470th AUN-QA external assessment for 04 training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi was held.
The closing ceremony was attended by leaders of Hanoi National University, leaders, staff, lecturers and students of two universities with training programs participating in the external assessment.
At the meeting, the AUN-QA expert team gave preliminary conclusions on the external assessment and made recommendations to improve the quality of training programs. Previously, within the framework of the external assessment, the AUN-QA expert team visited the school's facilities (lecture halls, dormitories, etc.), conducted in-depth interviews with leaders, staff, and lecturers of training units, met with students, alumni, and met with organizations and businesses that have recruited graduates of training programs, etc.
According to the AUN-QA educational accreditation standards, important aspects of the training program have been evaluated, such as: program objectives and learning outcomes, teaching content, teaching methods, assessment methods, quality assurance activities, lecturers and students, facilities and student support, etc. From there, the evaluation team will provide advice to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU to complete and improve the quality of the training program.
 
AUN-QA representative evaluates in detail the strengths, areas that need to be improved and recommendations on the training program according to AUN's general assessment criteria.
In his closing speech, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the University Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities emphasized that the external assessment activities according to AUN-QA standards are an opportunity for the university to deeply review its strengths as well as issues that need to be improved with honesty, courage and commitment to development. The feedback from education experts from leading universities in the region are important recommendations, helping the university improve its quality according to international standards and stronger regional integration.
The Chairman of the University Council emphasized the commitment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to absorb and implement the recommendations, while strengthening the culture of continuous quality improvement.
Chairman of the School Board Bui Thanh Nam emphasized the school's commitment to quality culture.
Considering training quality and training quality assurance as the key philosophy and value, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU has always implemented quality assessment activities according to domestic and international standards.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi is currently training 28 undergraduate programs, 37 master's programs, 32 doctoral programs, and many short-term and joint training programs.
Since 2022, the school has issued a Quality Assurance Policy under Decision No. 2550/QD-XHNV dated September 15, 2022. The school has also issued important regulations related to internal quality assurance, including: Regulations on Quality Assurance activities. Regulations on internal quality assurance information systems and educational quality comparison. Every year, the school publishes the "Three Publicities" report according to Circular No. 36/2017/TT-BGDDT dated December 28, 2017. This report publicly affirms the school's commitments to training quality, actual training results, quality assurance conditions and financial transparency.
By the end of May 2025, the school had 07 undergraduate training programs accredited according to the AUN-QA standards; 18 undergraduate training programs assessed according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (of which 03 programs have completed the assessment and are waiting for certification); 03 master's training programs assessed according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (with results and waiting for certification); 100% of undergraduate training programs and 02 master's programs have been peer-reviewed.
In addition, USSH regularly conducts stakeholder surveys to assess satisfaction with educational quality, and organizes many exchange and consultation activities with international scholars to improve the design and implementation of training programs.
