The excitement and determination of students when participating in the VNU Olympic exam The VNU Olympic Competition is an annual activity, contributing to discovering and nurturing talented students, encouraging the spirit of learning and research, and affirming the prestige and training quality of Hanoi National University in developing young talents.
On October 25-26, nearly 2,200 candidates in many subjects will participate in the Olympic exam at the following schools: University of Social Sciences and Humanities (History, Literature); University of Natural Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics); Foreign Language Specialized High School, under the University of Foreign Languages (Foreign Languages); University of Education (Geography and Science and Technology exam).
At the examination site of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 450 candidates from 71 specialized high schools nationwide participated in the exam, of which 289 students took the Literature exam and 161 students took the History exam. The facilities and organization of the exam were carefully prepared, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
Deputy Director of Hanoi National University Nguyen Hieu and the working delegation of Hanoi National University inspected the exam organization at the exam site of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The examination council disseminates the examination regulations. The VNU Olympic Exam is held for high school students nationwide. In particular, high schools of Hanoi National University are allowed to send no more than 30 members/team for each subject. Teams of specialized high schools are allowed no more than 10 members/team for each subject. Teams of other high schools are allowed no more than 5 members/team for each subject. The exam is in essay form, the content closely follows the general education program and specialized knowledge.
The exam questions are prepared by a number of scientists, specialists, researchers, lecturers, and teachers with good scientific reputation and professional capacity at educational training institutions, state management agencies of education, research institutes, and professional associations at the request of Hanoi National University.
This year, the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities has 126 students participating in the exam in 5 teams in the subjects of Literature, History; Geography; English and Chinese.
Many parents who brought their children to the exam shared that this is a large-scale, prestigious exam, and the exam results are given priority for admission to universities, so everyone expects their children to achieve high results. According to the regulations of VNU, candidates who achieve high scores in the exam and have graduated from high school will be given priority for admission to member universities or other training institutions in the system. For students who have won prizes but have not graduated, the results will be reserved until the end of grade 12.
