The enthusiasm and determination of the students participating in the VNU Olympic competition. The VNU Olympic Exam is an annual event that contributes to discovering and nurturing gifted students, encouraging a spirit of learning and research, and affirming the prestige and quality of Hanoi National University's training in developing young talents.
On October 25-26, nearly 2,200 students in various subjects will participate in the Olympic competition at the following school locations: University of Social Sciences and Humanities (History, Literature); University of Natural Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics); High School for Foreign Languages, affiliated with the University of Foreign Languages (Foreign Languages); University of Education (Geography and Science & Technology exam).
At the examination center at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 450 candidates from 71 specialized high schools nationwide participated in the exam, including 289 taking the Literature exam and 161 taking the History exam. The facilities and exam organization were meticulously prepared, ensuring safety and adherence to regulations.
Vice Rector of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Hieu, and a delegation from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, inspected the exam organization at the exam site of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The examination council disseminated the regulations for organizing the examination. The VNU Olympic competition is organized for high school students nationwide. High schools affiliated with the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, are allowed to send no more than 30 members per team for each subject. Teams from specialized high schools are allowed no more than 10 members per team for each subject. Teams from other high schools are allowed no more than 5 members per team for each subject. The exam is essay-based, with content closely following the general education curriculum and including in-depth knowledge.
The exam questions were compiled by a number of reputable scientists, specialists, researchers, lecturers, and teachers with strong scientific reputation and professional competence from educational institutions, state management agencies in education, research institutes, and professional associations at the request of Hanoi National University.
This year, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities has 126 students participating in the competition across 5 teams in the subjects of Literature, History, Geography, English, and Chinese.
Many parents who brought their children to the exam shared that this is a large-scale, prestigious exam, and the results are prioritized for university admissions, so everyone hopes their children will achieve high scores. According to the regulations of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, candidates who win high prizes in the exam and have graduated from high school will be given priority for admission to member universities or other training institutions within the system. For students who win prizes but have not yet graduated, the results will be retained until the end of grade 12.
