On August 22, 2020, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a meeting and exchange event took place between the Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Board of Directors of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities with parents and students of the first course of the School.

Attending the meeting and exchange were Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Rector of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities) and the school's leaders, teachers and staff. The purpose of the event is to share important information about the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities as well as to answer the concerns and questions of parents and students to enhance the connection between the two sides, helping parents and students feel secure in accompanying the school's educational career.

At the beginning of the meeting, parents and students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities watched videos about the Traditional Song of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the video "Journey of Charity" about the story of the School helping a female student in difficult circumstances, Tran Thi Hong Ngoc, and the video "Accompanying Humanities students" during the Covid epidemic. Parents and students had a more complete view of the Humanistic spirit of the School.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh sent greetings to all parents and students of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. The Principal shared about his association with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities from the time he was a freshman until he started teaching, working and managing. This process has created pride in a school with a 75-year tradition and 25 years of establishment, with the cradle being the former General University. He emphasized that the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities will inherit all the quintessence and values ​​from this university.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh pledged that the High School for the Gifted will uphold the spirit of service and integration that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has pursued.

The Principal also shared about the internationalization orientation of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. The school has proposed and initiated cooperation with foreign partners such as the Goethe Institute, Concordia International School Hanoi, the Singapore Embassy, ​​and Facebook Group to seek scholarship opportunities, opportunities to organize short and long-term courses, educational and cultural exchange programs, and knowledge dissemination training, in order to benefit the school's students who already have good foreign language skills. With efforts to integrate with the world's education, he hopes that the school will open up new horizons and become a fulcrum to help students take off on their future path.

On behalf of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu disseminated information about classes, subjects, curriculum, facilities, extracurricular activities, timetables, and breaks for students... He also emphasized that in addition to educating knowledge, the School also educates students in compassion, adaptability, and necessary skills. He reminded students to maintain pride and responsibility for themselves, their parents, and the school they attend; promote solidarity between classes and the collective identity of a School of Humanities.

Next, the Board of Directors of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities answered questions clearly and received feedback from parents in a receptive spirit. The exchange and discussion helped parents gain more confidence when sending their children to the School.

The performances by students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities made the meeting more vibrant and colorful.

After the meeting, the Principal of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities invited all parents of the students to visit the Traditional Room of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, where images, documents and artifacts about the school are kept and displayed. At the same time, he invited all the students of the school to have an intimate lunch at the canteen at the BC House.

The High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities was established in 2019, becoming the first high school to train elite students in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam. Last July, the school completed the first entrance exam and more than 140 students were admitted. They were selected for specialized classes in Literature, History, Geography and High Quality classes 1&2.
