Do Thanh Nga (Que Vo High School No. 1, Bac Ninh) was one of the candidates who arrived to complete the admission procedures the earliest on the morning of September 9. Nga won second prize at the provincial level in Geography and her total score in group D was 27 points. Sharing the reason for choosing to register to study Psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, she said that she had researched the school very carefully through information introduced online and through sharing from teachers at high school. Especially fond of Social Sciences and Humanities, Nga convinced her parents to believe in her choice of Psychology and hoped that the university environment would help her become more active, sociable and outgoing.

Another candidate who loves Psychology is Do Pham Anh Thu (Hanoi) - has an IELTS certificate of 6.0 and is eligible for direct admission to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Anh Thu believes that Psychology is very attractive and promising in the future, although it may not be as hot in the media as some other majors. Anh Thu has carefully planned to study foreign languages to get an IELTS certificate, aiming for direct admission so that she can easily enter her favorite major. This wish of hers has received the support of her whole family.

Another unique candidate, Pham Luong Anh Tam (Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted), shared his determination in studying to be directly admitted to the Journalism major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He made great efforts to join the national excellent student team in History, winning the Encouragement Prize. Anh Tam's total score for the subjects in group D was 24.25 and group C was 27.5. Coming to school with an eager and happy mood, Anh Tam said: "I chose the Journalism major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities since middle school, it was my first choice but also the only choice I wanted. I have thoroughly researched the school's traditions, job opportunities in the majors and am very confident in my choice."

Pham Luong Anh Tam and parents

Ms. Pham Thuy Anh, parent of Pham Luong Anh Tam, has accompanied her daughter's career dream for many years. She proudly shared: her daughter is very active in movement activities, has competed in MC competitions, and participated in activities at clubs at high school. Her national high school exam scores are all 8-9 points each and she is capable of being admitted to many other schools. However, the family is very supportive of her dream of pursuing a career in journalism and communications and especially believes in the reputation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.

This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities received 1,326 applications for direct admission and priority admission; 680 applications for admission by other methods (foreign language certificates, SAT, A level...). Thus, a large number of students used foreign language criteria for admission, this number is about 10 times higher than last year. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Principal of the University commented: This is a good point, even a breakthrough in the quality of the University's enrollment this year. This shows that students with good academic performance and good foreign language skills have proactively taken international foreign language certificates to enter the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in a "fair and square" way. It is not uncommon for students to have IELTS certificates of 6.5, 7.5.

Commenting on the general atmosphere of the current admissions at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Vice Principal said that it is "very positive, with many positive signals compared to previous years". The first manifestation is that the total number of applications to the University has not decreased, but the number of admissions in the first choice has increased. That shows the interest of society in the University's majors, the position of the Social Sciences and Humanities majors in general and the University in particular is increasingly promising. In addition, some university training majors, due to the characteristics of skills and integration, no longer consider admissions according to the C block combination but only consider admissions according to the D block combination such as Southeast Asian Studies, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Hotel Management... The priority for block D is to ensure the recruitment of the right number and quality of candidates for that major, but also to have a more reasonable shift of candidates with advantages in block C to other majors.

The Vice Principal commented that the positive highlights of this year's enrollment work are the result of reasonable solutions that the School and VNU have implemented over the past many years, such as: diversifying enrollment methods; streamlining learners' abilities from the beginning based on considering which majors need depth in theory, which majors need depth in foreign languages, professional skills, etc.

This year, the school organized early admission for candidates who meet the conditions for direct admission, priority admission and admission by other methods to help students feel more comfortable, quickly stabilize their study plan, and at the same time, spread out the admission periods in the context of the Covid epidemic. By the end of September 9, 2020, 200 candidates had completed the admission procedures and became the first new students of USSH in the 2020 admission season.
