VNU-USSH expands opportunities for international educational cooperation with universities in Guangxi.

From June 22nd to 24th, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hong Son, Vice Rector, along with Dr. Pham Hoang Hung, Head of the Department of Oriental Studies, and Dr. Vu Minh Hai, lecturer in the Department of Oriental Studies, led a group of students on a field trip to Guangxi Province, China, to work with Nanning University of Vocational Technology and Nanning Normal University. The study and research exchange program was fully funded for 12 days (June 22nd - July 3rd, 2026) by Great Education Technology Group, China.

On the morning of June 23, 2026, the opening ceremony of the short-term training course titled “AI + Chinese Language + Professional Skills - Red Learning Research” officially took place at Nanning University of Vocational Technology. The ceremony marked an important milestone in launching a series of meaningful cultural and academic exchanges.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Bin Yuejing, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Nanning University of Technology, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH). He emphasized that this training program is an upgraded version of the cooperation between the two universities, particularly focusing on the practical needs of the electronic information industry. The course is systematically designed around three main aspects, including building a system that combines "Chinese language application + professional skills + industry practice." The core goal of the program is to help students both strengthen their Chinese language foundation and grasp modern key technologies. On this occasion, he also expressed his sincere gratitude to Ms. Lu Xue Mai, the founding representative, and Great Education Technology Group for acting as a bridge, transforming the promising vision of cooperation between the two universities into a vibrant and practical project.

Representing Vietnam, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son, Vice Rector of VNU-USSH, expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to Nanning University of Technology, the Academy of Smart Engineering, and Great Education Technology Group. He highly valued the excellent opportunity for Vietnamese students to visit the beautiful city of Nanning to learn the language and experience the unique culture of Southern China for a short period. The Vice Rector hoped that the students would have a smooth trip, strive to practice their Chinese well, actively interact with Chinese students, and gain a deeper understanding of the traditional culture as well as the modern life of China. He also warmly welcomed the leaders, lecturers, and students of Nanning University of Technology to visit and work in Hanoi in the future.

Continuing the series of vibrant activities, on the afternoon of the same day (June 23, 2026), the VNU-USSH delegation, including Vice Rector Dang Hong Son, faculty members, and 23 student representatives, visited and worked at the Wuming campus of Nanning Normal University.

At the official meeting between the two universities, Associate Professor Long Ny Na, Vice President of Nanning Normal University, represented the university in welcoming the delegation. Professor Long Ny Na shared that over the years, the two universities have continuously implemented multi-layered educational cooperation and exchange activities, achieving many practical results and building a very deep foundation of cooperation. Based on common strengths in fields such as Marxist theory and the Vietnamese language, the two institutions have successfully built a comprehensive cooperation framework including: faculty and student exchanges, academic research cooperation, co-organizing international conferences, and sharing scientific research results. She expressed her hope that both sides would take advantage of the opportunities from this visit to further deepen their cooperative relationship in many new areas. Proposed focus areas include: two-way faculty and student exchange, collaborative human resource training, research in Oriental studies and Sinology, archaeology, as well as co-establishment of a joint laboratory for ASEAN multilingual corpus.

In response to the warm welcome from the host institution, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son provided an overview of the formation, development, and mission of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in training high-quality human resources and conducting outstanding scientific research. He proudly shared that the university currently offers 80 training programs from undergraduate to doctoral levels, attracting approximately 15,000 students, of which up to 25% are postgraduate students and international students. Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son also emphasized the great interest of the university's students in research and learning activities within the framework of the Red Journey approved by high-ranking leaders of both countries. Continuously promoting faculty and student exchanges between the two universities is considered a crucial driving force for mutual and robust development in the context of international integration.

Following the seminar, the delegation had time to tour the Nanning Normal University campus, visiting the Library, the Tourism and Culture Academy, the Logistics Management and Engineering Academy, and the Institute of Geography and Oceanography to gain a better understanding of the scale of training offered by their partner institution.

The working visit of the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to Guangxi has concluded successfully. The substantive meetings and exchanges with the two partner universities in Nanning not only strengthened the existing traditional friendship but also opened up many opportunities for strategic cooperation, promising breakthroughs in the future.

For the student delegation participating in the program, the first few days of their experience in Nanning left a profound impression. The thoughtful and warm welcome from the host universities, along with the modern learning and living environment, provided immense motivation. This is undoubtedly the perfect start to a 12-day journey of diligent study, skill development, and cultural exploration for Vietnamese students in a foreign country.
