Both sides have agreed to jointly organize an international scientific conference to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand (1976-2026). On the Vietnamese side, the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies; the Faculty of Political Science; the Faculty of Oriental Studies; and the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies are the core units responsible for implementation. The conference is expected to be held at Thammasat University, Thaphrachan campus, at the end of August 2026.
Besides agreeing on the organization of the international scientific conference, the two sides also agreed on many aspects of academic and publishing cooperation in the fields of Oriental Studies, Vietnamese Studies, Political Science, and Religious Studies.
