PGS TS Đặng Thị Thu Hương phát biểu tại hội thảo
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong delivered the welcoming speech.
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized: “In the digital transformation process, the press and media play a crucial role, with the mission of disseminating accurate, complete, and timely information on the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws, creating consensus and trust in society, and providing impetus for the successful implementation of national digital transformation. At the same time, the press is also a sector within society, therefore, it must undergo digital transformation in line with the general development trends of society. As one of the two leading reputable training institutions for journalism and media in the country, the Institute of Journalism and Media Training has been developing training programs, research topics, and community engagement activities in the direction of digital transformation.”

On the occasion of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong sent her congratulations and presented a beautiful bouquet of flowers to the journalists attending the seminar. Mr. Le Quoc Minh accepted the flowers on behalf of the journalists.
Following the opening remarks by representatives from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' leadership, the conference proceeded to two main parts: Part 1: Digital Transformation Strategy for Journalism – Vision 2030; Part 2: Digital Transformation of Vietnamese Journalism – Practical Perspectives. In each part, the conference featured lively presentations, discussions, and speeches from delegates. The discussions focused on key issues facing Vietnamese journalism today, such as: Challenges in building a modern, professional, multi-platform, multi-media Vietnamese press that aligns with global trends in digital technology and communication. The conference addressed various issues and proposed solutions to state management agencies regarding the direction and guidance of digital transformation in journalism, supporting media organizations in experimenting with modern technologies to change management models, operations, and production processes, thereby optimizing operations, creating quality products, opportunities, revenue, and added value. In addition, many delegates presented insightful analyses from their own organizations' practical experiences in digital transformation and proposed specific solutions for the current digital transformation of journalism in Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam (Director of the Press Department - Ministry of Information and Communications) emphasized: During the digital transformation period, we need to learn from each other, support each other, and share resources. Media and press agencies need to proactively undergo digital transformation because, in the current technological trend, journalism is forced to move into the digital space.

Speaking at the conference, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Le Quoc Minh, stated that the topic of digital transformation has been discussed in almost all fields recently. In the field of journalism, many newsrooms and reporters lack experience and knowledge in digital transformation. Based on the outstanding digital transformation achievements of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the past, Mr. Le Quoc Minh proposed several solutions and plans to promote digital transformation in the future: implementing an integrated information production process; maximizing the use of measurement and analysis tools; investing in modern technology and a skilled technology workforce; strengthening research and development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic journalism. Along with this, he suggested diversifying revenue sources; directly collecting reader data (first-party data); and collaborating on content distribution across multiple non-journalistic platforms…
