SETY Summer Camp 2022 is an activity within the framework of the Project "Socio-ecological transformation and youth: From ideas to action" signed between the Institute and RLS SEA Foundation in 2022.
Attending the event were Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Director of the Institute of Policy and Management); Mr. Philip Degenhart (Regional Director of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Southeast Asia - representative office in Hanoi); Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu (Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the VNU Development Fund, Vice President of the VNU Scientists Club); Associate Professor, Dr. Luu Thi Minh Ngoc (Deputy Director of the Institute of Business Administration, University of Economics, VNU); Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Anh Tuyet (Deputy Director of the Department of Science Management, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics),... and 20 female students from universities, research institutes, research centers,... in Hanoi.
SETY Camp is organized by the Institute of Policy and Management (IPAM) of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Federal Republic of Germany) Southeast Asia (RLS SEA). This is the first time a summer camp has been organized exclusively for female students, all of whom are young, dynamic women who are passionate about research and participating in development project activities. This SETY Summer Camp is a summer camp of ideas and actions that contribute to promoting the role of women in research activities and projects on ecological and social transformation in Vietnam in the near future.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the summer camp, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong said that from the early days of sharing ideas and receiving support from Mr. Philip Degenhart and the RLS SEA Foundation on the signing of the project, the project has built a website dedicated to the activities of the summer camp, and the fanpage communication activities have spread the SETY spirit to more than 1,000 visitors, with 2,344 interactions. Information about the summer camp has also been conveyed to lecturers and students of VNU by VSL (VNU Scientists Club), VNU Scholarship channel. The SETY journey will have many prospects and can continue with many more meaningful and practical activities for Vietnamese youth.

Also at the SETY summer camp, Mr. Philip Degenhardt, Director of the RLS Foundation in Southeast Asia, expressed his interest and support to continue supporting IPAM to organize SETY Camp in the coming years to continue to replicate the results of the project.

During the 6 days of the summer camp, students will be equipped with the necessary skills for a young scientist when conducting research; learn, exchange and discuss about gender, environment and development. Along with that, there is knowledge related to research methods on socio-ecological transition; feminist approach in research on socio-ecological transition; nature-based development... In addition, young people will also have a session to experience ecological lifestyle at a cooperative producing products from local medicinal resources.
