The Four-School Forum is an academic initiative formed on the basis of a cooperation agreement between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and three leading universities in Taiwan (China): National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University, and National Dong Hwa University. The agreement was signed in 2024 at Cheng Kung University (Taiwan, China), within the framework of the first Forum with the theme “Interregionalism and Integration - Discussing Culture from an East Asian Perspective.”
This is also an important event in a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of tradition and 30th anniversary of establishment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities delivered the opening speech at the second International Science Forum between four universities in Vietnam and Taiwan (China)
Professor Hoang Thanh Tung - Head of the Chinese Department, National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan, China) representing the delegations of scholars from three Taiwanese universities (China), delivered a welcome speech. Scientists emphasized that the forum was held in a special context when the world is witnessing a strong transformation in technology, environment, economy, society and global politics. Social sciences and humanities not only play an important role in explaining and adapting to ongoing issues at the local, national and global levels, but are also the foundation for shaping the core values of people, nations and humanity.
In that spirit, the forum discussed many issues of profound practical significance, covering many fields of contemporary social sciences and humanities: Research on history, culture and traditional literature of East Asia; Research and teaching of Chinese studies in Vietnam and Taiwan (China); Literature and art in East Asian intercultural dialogue; Research and teaching of social sciences and humanities in the digital age and artificial intelligence.

International scientists discuss at the forum In the spirit of exchange, sharing and co-creation of knowledge, this year's Four Schools Forum is not only a place for academic knowledge convergence between Vietnam and Taiwan (China), but also an opportunity to position the role of social sciences and humanities in the era of global integration, digitalization and artificial intelligence - when humanities knowledge is increasingly becoming the foundation for the sustainable development of humans and society in the 21st century.
